    Will a TNPH0834 work in a MD50F13C1A PDP?

    Hi gang,

I've been reading and learning a lot from this site over the past year.. You guys are a good group of knowledgeable dudes.. Anyway my question is this:

I have a few Panny Plasmas in the basement and I was wondering if anyone knew if this would work, or what would happen if I took all the components off of a TC-P50S2 MD50F13C1A Panel and installed them on a MD50F13C2A Panel from a TC-P50G20?

The A board THPH0831 is shot in the P50S2, so I was thinking it's the same panel except for the C1A & C2A it should fly I would think?

I recently had a P50U50 that had a bad A board and I also had a P50UT50..SO I took the main board from the UT50 and installed it into the U50 and whaaa-LA I created a Franken-Box! Haha.. That's what the wife called it...

Any input from you guys would be much appreciated!

yeah, you're right you did make it harder to find

I'd put all TV related posts in the TV section.

    So the questions are.

What's wrong with the G20? SC board?

    What's the S2 A board doing/not doing?

I'd expect the panel to work but board mounting points may not line up. Also the SC20 ribbon I'd expect to be different length. You'd have to grab the schematics for both models.

Same goes for the PSU, need to check out that out too.

So obviously you intend using the G20 A board.

Interesting point here would be the G20 SC is a little beefier and the SD/SU have heatsinks but are the same otherwise.

So what does that mean for the way the G20 runs, ? better picture, works harder? That I have no idea.

Maybe it's simply budget line model with reduced components for cost cutting?

I'd be tempted to repair the G20 correctly sus out the S2 A-board.

maybe see if you can interface the A from the G20 into the S2 first.

If I was gong to do what you say it'd be just the TNPA5105 that I'd move, but compare the 2 ccts first.

Ahhh, ok thanks.. I'll get the hang of it here haha..

I see your point about the boards lining up on the mounts..

I pick them up, troubleshoot them and tag them with what they need and then sometimes they hang out for a few in the basement until I either come across another one of the same family or find the parts cheap..

Or if I get brave and try to tackle the component fix on the bench..

So to answer your question I can't remember the sequence I took to troubleshoot the blink stats but I know I isolated it to the TNPH0831 A board for the S2 and the SC on the G20..

That's a good idea.. I'll dig into the TNPA5105 and compare the 2 boards...

Sometimes when I can't get any action on finding new TV's I get these silly ideas haha..

Another question for you.. Do you know if yourself or anyone one here swap boards for boards? I have a bunch of other boards like a sought after TNPA5623AB or TNPH0991UB etc... I can go on & on buffers, SC boards...

I seem to like the Panny's the best.. But I have fixed Samsungs, LG, Vizios, etc...

yeah, I know where you're coming from. fixable but hard to find parts or more importantly at the right price.

There's a classifieds section , sale/trade but says computer hardware only but I think I've seen TV bits in there.

Me , I'm on the other side of the planet and postage makes it not very feasible. I do however have 2 new (salvage from new ) 50GT25 A boards and a PSU to match. I know they used the same SC,SSSD/SU boards so still thiking of maybe listing them as a package.

Can't really use them here. psu maybe. I know freight for the 2 A boards is about $45-50. The psu would add some dollars due to the weight.

Maybe you can score some good bucks for the SS and offset the A board and repair the SC.

Other things too, k board to A board and power switch. some are on the a and click on/off. Others are soft start at the front.

Not overly familiar with your models.

Not sure if I'd fix a TV and sell it knowing it did not have the correct boards in it.

So a moduslink repair is looking at about $120 for TNPH0831AC, there's no TNPA5623 boards around much so you may get $70-80. A repair is less than $60,

So maybe that would make the S2 potentially a $60 repair.

Yeah I see you are down under and it wouldn't make much sense Ouch, postage is the cost of the boards!

Cool, I'll check out that section also and see if anyone what to trade some boards..

I agree, I wouldn't sell it not knowing if it was working properly..

It's 1am here and my eyes are rolling in the back of my head, so it's time to go look at the back of my eye lids.. lol

Thanks again for your input.. I'm sure we'll be talking again soon.. Take care..
