    Component identification and/or datasheet, please

    Hi all

I have Synology DS115j that I'm trying to repair.
I've found a short between G and S on Q13, but it's not on mosfet (when I unsolder it). So I suppose problem might be on mosfet driver - I believe U10 is the driver for 2 surrounding mosfets.

However, I'm not sure exactly what U10 is, so I cannot find the datasheet. (might be uPI semiconductors, but I cannot find anything on their page)

    Any help is welcome, thanks!

I see references to uP1504TSU8, so this is consistent with uPI Semiconductor Corp parts.

    Example datasheet for uP1514RSU8 (PSOP-8L) and uP1514RSA8 (SOP-8L):

    https://www.alldatasheet.com/datashe...P1514RSU8.html

ISTM that your IC is a buck controller (because there is an inductor nearby), possibly with the same pinout as the uP1514RSU8.

      Thanks for the help.

Although I'm not sure if pinout is the same, as 1514 has high mosfet gate on pin2 (according to your document), while on my board it seems that high mosfet gate goes to pin8? 😕
Weird part is, I can find uP1504 chips on Aliexpress, but I'm not able to find any datasheet for it.

It could be a custom part.

This reviewer wasn't able to find a datasheet, either:

Yep, this power input part of the board looks very similar if not identical to mine.

So, if I understand correctly, I basically have 3 options: try my luck with Aliexpress chip; bypass this part of the board with "external" 5V buck converter; or just bin the damn thing.

Often a manufacturer will use two or more sources for the same part. However, all the photos I've seen show the same UPI IC. An external buck converter might be the safest option.

Thank you for all your effort.

The only problem I can see with using external buck converter, is then that power supply (and probably something powered by it) will be always on -I suppose internal PS is somehow connected to power button- but, then again, it's only a problem when device is plugged in but not switched on, which for a NAS shouldn't be that often.

You need to find the enable pin and tie that into the circuit. Then the circuit will switch on the external module when required.

Yeah, the cheapest ones that I bought a couple (for 12V) don't have that pin. I'll have to splurge and buy the second-cheapest option.

XFX RX470 MOSFET driver IC identification *help*
                    by lewistech
                    Hi all

Trying to identify this mosfet driver ic on my XFX RX470 8gb. I don't have the schematics or boardview to assist. The markings on the IC are AZ1. See picture.

If anyone has the schematic or board view I would much appreciate it if you shared it! 🤞

Failing that, is there anyone who can help identify this component?

                    Thanks...

Help find compatible MOSFET from Asus FA506 DABXBMBAD0
                    by Blastsail
I have a coffee damaged asus laptop with shorted mosfet for vram. Trying to find replacement but I am struggling to. Markings are M3966M and I have attached image of mosfet. Schematics are available which say chip is a QM3966M6 but i am unable to find this chip no matter what combination of letters i put in. I can see there exists an m3966m3 chip but this appears to be the wrong size and markings are different.

I have attached schematic as well to help, mosfet is on page 44 of pdf. I do not know where to start to find a compatible mosfet so any help will be greatly appreciated....

Mosfet identification on hp pavilion 16-ag0052wm

                    Hello,
Looking for an exact ID or fully compatible replacement for a dual N‑channel MOSFET used as a synchronous buck pair in a laptop charging stage. The package is the compact ~ 3×3 mm “dual” type where high‑side and low‑side FETs are integrated with a common SW node. The part sits right next to the buck inductor on the charger section. marked as 3840C 35039E. With these thermal pads, it looks like an onsemi NTTFD4D0N04HL or a part from AOS’s AONE family (DFN 3.3×3.3, 8‑pin options such as AONE36132, AONE36182, AONE36196, or AONE38132), but they are not pin‑to‑pin compatible....

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
                    by Jane
I tried to use this method:

                    Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the
                    ...
