    Low impedance vs low ESR

    Could somebody explain in simple terms the different uses for low ESR as compared to low impedance capacitors? I am thinking you can use both on motherboards but low impedance is better for power supplies?

      Low impedance and low ESR means are same, no need to compare.

        Thanks for clearing that up. Thats what I figured when I read the article. What got me confused is seeing some people selling capacitors that have some labeled "Low ESR" and others in the same sheet labeled "Low Impedance". So that kind of looked like there might be a subtle difference.
