    LED Modding Sharp PG-MB60LX Projector

I've enjoyed this trash-picked projector for about a year now with the bulb that came in it, but it finally blew. Being the lighting fanatic I am, I decided I'd try a 50w LED in place of the OEM bulb, but I need help figuring out what's what to fool the main board into thinking that there's a bulb present and lit.

I've found the factory service manual online, and found the Five wires leading to the ballast control, but I'm sort of lost in their labeling, and can't reach the ballast with the unit on to probe as the main board sits atop it and has connectors all around that must be connected for the only fault in the system to be the lamp (or so I assume).

    Ballast Control:

Pins with respective wiring colors, Purple is White =)
    Pin 1 - L-Lit C
    Pin 2 - L-Lit E
    Pin 3 - 5v
    Pin 4 - Lamp-En
Pin 5 - Eco (I assume this pin is useless in my quest for modification)

    Diagram of Ballast:

From this picture, I find that Lamp-En is what tells the ballast to ignite the bulb, so that leaves pins 1 and 2 to tell the main board that the bulb is lit, but I don't really know where to proceed from here. Would I jump pins 1, 2, and 3? 1 and 2 maybe?

    Thanks guys!

It looks like the LAMP_LITS are the feedback signals to tell if the lamp did startup or not. Need to find out if it is active HIGH or active LOW.

L-Lit E reads GND, while L-Lit C reads 3.3v. There is no deviation from these readings throughout the start-up of the projector though, and the lamp light immediately starts flashing upon power up, so I'm not sure if I should take these readings as "lamp on." That being said, the ballast does attempt to ignite a bulb, even though there's not one installed. That crackling sound scares me to death

TOSHIBA DLP 52HM95 How to reset timer module on bulb
        by repair-it
I replaced the bulb only on my Toshiba DLP The bulb is a TB-25. This is the first time I've done a bulb only replacement. Supposedly there is a timer module that needs to be re-calibrated or reset. I don't know where the module is located. I see some vendors selling the bulb with the housing stating module included which leads me to think the module is located inside the enclosure the bulb mounts in, but I didn't see it. Maybe it's inside the plug attached to the bulb?

Anyway - I am seeking information on how to reset this so called module so that the lamp will operate. Apparently...

        He told:
he was trying to trace the serial bus code with USB Logic on 2CH TX & RX. he used to soldering the CH wire to PIN 1 of 2 optocoupler PC123, and as soon he switched the projector ON, he heard once at time crack noise. result his logic went dead & the projector shutdown and give blinking led error.. and always his projector wont start any more register same error all 3 LED power lamp Temo blinking Red.

        LUMIMAN Smart Bulb IC ID?
        by ezenia
        Hi,

I have a LUMIMAN Smart Bulb that suddenly stopped lighting one day. The bulb is still detected in the app, but won't light. I've probed around and nothing seems to look off with any of the diodes, caps or resistors. The Bluetooth/Wi-Fi module seems to be working as it's still detected in the app. I even tried deleting and re-pairing the bulb (it didn't light, but I was still able to follow the pairing instructions), it re-paired fine, but still no light.

In diode mode, the LEDs all light up when probed so I'm guessing this means the LEDs themselves are OK. I was expecting...

Replacing incandescent bulb on Pioneer LD player with led. Need help :)
        by JimBanville
I have a pioneer dvl-909 LD/dvd player from 1998. It has a light on the front panel that lights up when you play a dvd. I removed the bulb and it appears to be a tiny incandescent bulb. Its measures "open"/dead and the bulb is black like it's blown. The socket it fits into measures 5v. I've looked up the schematics and there's no indication of the amperage. I don't want to spend any money on new parts, but I have a pack of like 100, 3v, 20ma LEDs and I have various resistors.
Is there a way for me to determine the amperage going to the old dead bulb with my multimeter?
