Depends on the cable. You can bend cable, you can't just fold them, because electrical current travels on the outside of the conductor. I know for romex it can't be no more then 5 times the inner diameter of the cable itself, whatever that means.

Basically nice and wide bends is safe. Nothing insane like a hula hoop but if you think it's going to arc across the inner or cause a hot point then it probably best not to do it.

Best way to do it is to ask your inspector or call an electrician to consult about it, because they know the local codes in your area, and they can tell you for sure.

If you're using EMT, you have the option of using a pulling ell, or an LB/LL/LR housing if you need a 'tight' 90 degree bend.

PCV conduit also has similar LB/LL/LR housings for tight 90 degree bends.

MC (metal clad) cable, by code, cannot be bent any tighter than 9 times its outside diameter. The reason why is it will pinch the conductors against the outer jacket and you'll 'break' sheath. MC cable sheath is nothing more than an interlocked spiral-wrapped metal tape. Most MC cable has an aluminum jacket although there is still one company that makes it with steel.

I work mainly in commercial/light industrial so I don't work much with NM or UF cable. When I run either one of these, no sharp turns.
Stupidity should be a crime, especially for drivers. I have NO patience for them.

Lenovo Yoga 710 15ISK, 80U00002US battery cable wire broken.

We have an Lenovo Yoga 710 15ISK that we use as a secondary laptop. To cut a long story short, around May 2023, while traveling, I connected the laptop into an electrical outlet that was already switched on. Something made a "pfft" sound and the laptop refused to turn on after that. After getting back home, I gave the the laptop for repair to an informal repair person. He replaced the adapter and an internal motherboard part, but after he returned it I noticed that the LCD did not look normal. Essentially, every alternate horizontal line on the screen had gone missing. The laptop was...

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

New wire for my RDE3340 Whirlpool electric range
        by wnlewis
OK. I got the rocker switch figured out thanks to the good advice on this forum.

Now I need to figure out the correct wire to go to the switch from the broiler element and from the oven element.

This is a Whirlpool RDE3340 electric range.

The common wire on the switch appears to have a high temperature insulating material. I am guessing that both the wire to the broiler and the wire to the oven elements also need relatively high temperature insulation. What do I need to look for? The broiler is rated at about 2400 watts.

        Where may I find parts...

Hi, I disassemble my laptop to replace the speakers, to access them, you have to remove everything including the heat sink and fan, unscrew the motherboard, lift it up a bit to access the speaker wire.
that was not the first time I dissasemble it, i did replace the same speaker a few year ago and I repaste it last year, so I had nothing to worry about. but when I put everything back together, its completely dead.

After a bit of investigating, i found one pin of the status led ribbon cable that was unglued from the cable and bend touching another pin, I bend it back at his place...

        Cable Repair
        by Patch2
I have a broken connector (believe it's a 6 pin mini-DIN) on a cable. The metal shroud and all but one of the pins are separated from the cable, and just stuck together for the photo. The other end is an unknown rectangular connector. The cable is for the foot pedals on an Italian made electronic piano, and the company is out of business. Looking for ideas on how to fix it. I have a soldering iron, but I'm not very skilled at soldering, so getting a retrofit for the broken end may be beyond my ability. The other end would be easier to replace, if I could get a mini-DIN cable with the same number...
