Remote control IR transmitter pads damaged

    Hi,

Trying to fix a remote control where the IR transmitter has been pulled off. I am unable to solder it back on since the pads are damaged. I'm wondering if there is a way to fix the pads or solder the IR tx at other locations where the connections can be made. I've attached a picture of the PCB and the IR tx. I'm thinking I can solder it just before the resistor 1R0 at the solder point, and just before the XR chip at the solder point? Am I right? I marked the new points in yellow, and also where the original connections where.

    Thanks for any help!

There is no great way to fix this problem. I have used super glue to glue the broken pads back onto the board. If they are intact, it will provide some support for the led. If not, then glue the led in place. In both cases, hard wire the leads with a bit of #30 wire. As always, pay attn to diode polarity.
    Is it plugged in?

Solder some scrap lead to traces as shown.
      [Must clean coating off first.]
Then solder LED to scrap lead.

Thanks, when you "scrap lead" do you mean scrap wire? For the contact on the bottom left, how would I solder it on to the trace?

I mean the bits of lead clipped off caps after installed, or similar.
Is more rigid than copper wire so better mechanical support for the LED.

Might want to put another bend it it to keep it off the board slightly where the LED will attach to it.
Will make soldering on the LED easier.

"""how would I solder it on to the trace?"""
Clean/scrape the gunk off the trace down to bare copper then solder to the trace the same way you do to a pad, only it's long and skinny vice a round spot.
Ideally want 1/4 inch or so of run to ensure enough contact area and mechanical support.
          .
If needed, a dab of silicon after the job is done [and checked] will provide more mechanical support [prevent movement].
          .

Thanks worked like a charm! Scraped off a little to reveal the copper, then I used tape to hold the leads in place while soldering them, then put some electrical tape permanently to make sure it didn't move.

Pioneer VSX-522-K remote control not working???
              by tmhobadcap
I have this receiver for at least 10 years. Usually, we just use the remote for turning on/off and adjusting the volume. Recently, the remote control started not able to turn the receiver on. Later, the volume also could not be adjusted by the remote control.

At first, I thought that it was the usual problem which can be fixed by cleaning the contacts on the switches and the pcb. I opened the remote and clean it with alcohol. The remote did work again after that. But after one day, it did not work again. I opened it again and clean with alcohol and contact cleaner. Again it worked...

Old Privileg 5.1 speakers remote control question
              by piipo
Hi, I have an old Privileg brand 5.1 speakers. I have lost the remote control. I have an universal Harmony remote but there is no Privileg brand in it's software to add. Does anybody have an idea what alternative brand for a remote can I try instead? I'm attaching an image of what the speakers looks like. The image shows 2 main speakers, they are 5 + 1 in total. Thank you very much

Schematic for Denon Remote Control RC1156
              by hemant_2222
              Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone is enjoying their repairs at hand!.

I am looking forward to get the schematic of Denon remote control RC1156. Actually long time no use of the remote leaked the battery thereby corroding few parts as well as the tracks.

I was able to join few of them but the remote is still not working, so i am looking forward for your help, in case anyone understand the schematic or the remote circuit diagram and could me assist me in repairing it.

Please refer to the attached picture, i think the voltage divider is missing...

hitachi 75hl16t64u - not responding to remote control
              by dfear
I have a hitachi 75hl16t64u tv in for repair and it is driving me crazy.
It came in for a power issue which I have finally resolved by replacing the power supply.

The current issue is that the TV does not respond to the remote control. I have replaced the IR sensor board with a used one but the fault persists.

Anyone have a clue how to fix TV?

FYI: I have checked the remote work s by pointing it at my camera on my phone....

              Fujitsu Aircon remote control
              by t4796
I managed to drop this recently. It fell flat and square onto the floor from about 1.8m. Can't remember if face up or face down.
The remote still kinda works but the display is blank and only shows up if I repeatedly flick the little silver crystal/oscillator looking thing on the board.

Not sure if this part is the culprit or if flicking it is moving something else, but it seems localised to that component as far as I can tell.

Having trouble working out the value of it since it doesn't seem to have anything other than a brand name printed on the side of it....
