Tripp lite 1400 UPS with no power

Got a tripp lite UPS. Not sure of the exact model, possibly an Omnismart 1400 (it does not say anywhere on it). Was given to me because it would not power on. After prying out the 3 12 volt 7 amp batteries (quite swollen and dead), I opened it up and checked it for bad caps, scorching, blown chips, cold solder joints, blown surface mounted fuses, etc. The board is clean of all that. Checked it for voltage from the circuit breaker on the back (check). Started checking for fuses on the only Circuit board, found 2 - 25 amp, 1 - 7.5 amp, and 1 - 2 amp fuse All soldered into the board. All checked good except the 2 amp. Had to go down to the local auto parts store to get a replacement. Installed the fuse. Powered it on and..... Nothing, no power.

Can post pics but they may not help much with the mess of wires coming off the top of it.

Also I never finished my electronics class in high school so...

    Any Ideas?

Probably must have batteries in it to work. Similar to APC units of that size.

No, these can be turned on with or without batteries. I get no lights on the front panel. Even without batteries I should get a light for line voltage.

Well.... Problem solved. I decided to re-seat everything on the board that could be unplugged. Plugged the batteries in again. This time there was a loud snap and spark from the battery terminal, where before there was not. The ups came up immediately. Must have been a blown fuse and a bad connection somewhere.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
            by PantherDave
            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. šŸ˜…

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

            Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
            by GLISIT
            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Tripp-lite SMART1000LCD not charging, no emergency power!
            by Eddie3
I have opened up the case and saw no visible parts / board damage. Initially I removed the battery; measured about 9V. Then I had put it on trickle charge until it got charged to 12v, but problem persisted when I put the battery back. It appears my Smart1000LCD UPS will turn on but it will not charge the single 12v 7AH battery, nor operate in emergency mode. It lights up when powered on, but I’m unable to power test the device (holding power and Speaker button simultaneously).

            Took voltage measurements of battery:
charge mode: 11.8 DC Volts (in unit)
            battery backup...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
