Beginner and the rework station, have questions

    hi Guys

a few days ago my first rework station (LY IR8500) arrived and now i have some questions before i try my first attempt on any scrap board.

I connected the station to the PC to see if the software works.

then I read out all the profiles from the controller.

The problem I have now is to assign the individual profiles which profile is for what, I hope someone could help me a little.

or are there finished profiles somewhere?

and what software would you recommend only from LY BGA

unfortunately it is very difficult to find something on the internet

I once took a screenshot of the profiles, maybe someone can take a look at it and possibly describe what is what

Does not make any sense to me.. i cant figure out what is for the bottom / top / board.
If you match the numbers on the machine does it then make any sense ?

It's 2 zones, the bottom being either on or off.
There are 10 default profiles, that detail the temperature and how fast it should reach it. See on the right hand side for how one looks visually https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reflow_soldering

        Good day Experts.

I have recently aquired a rework station SEAMARK ZM-R6800,. Is there anyone using this or some other similar station and give me some info about profile temp curve etc for removing leadfree soldered gpu chip..? just 1 profile will be enough to get started.

        Kind regards

        Help with IR6500 rework station
        by petemanuk
        Hi,

I been playing with a recently acquired IR6500 rework station and watching lots of YouTube tutorials to see how to use it with not much success. I’ve only recently joined badcaps but going through the forums there is a lot of knowledge here, so though it best is if I ask my question here.

        1. Firstly is the IR6500 any good for BGA rework or should I be spending my money on a better one.

        2. The instruction manual is pretty useless on explaining how to set the PID loops (no information at all!!) both top and bottom heater for th Kp, Ki and Kd...

Yihua 992DA+ Hot air gun and soldering rework station, burnt mark
        by Peter_1402
        Hi Everyone,
I bought a Yihua 992DA+ hot air gun and soldering iron unit from a used market.
        1. Soldering iron works great
        2. There is a burnt mark on the hot air gun handle.
I am a bit concern by the look of the melted plastic. I opened the hot air gun handle and took some readings with a multimeter.
Heating element ~ 75ohm. (Similar reading taken from a spare heating element that came with the unit.)
Thermocouple ~ 1.5ohm. (Similar reading from the spare heating element.)
Reed switch tested ok with a magnet.
From the above test, I can conclude...
