Re: Best "dip" product?
Are you going to use this type product with electrical hand tools do not know what kind of electrical installation quality this product has but I have thought of this before using this product for this purpose myself
But the question I have posed is the reason I have not used it for that purpose
But I will keep looking at this post for information and ideas on this subjectComment

[Though I have many licensed electrician colleagues who are comfortable with Plasti-dip. <shudder> I'd be forever worrying about a crack developing in the coating and flesh pressing through it to contact the underlying metal tool]
"Dip" is used simply to provide a more friendly grip on the tool (most machined/cast metal tools have very crude handles -- peel off the coatings on yours to see just how crude/uncomfortable). Trying to find replacement handles is a fools errand... (you can try slipping rubber hose of an appropriate I.D. over the handles but this gets really clumsy looking/feeling).
You can buy rubberized coatings that are designed for their electrical insulation properties (e.g., "Liquid Tape" is good for 1400V/mil). But, they aren't intended in applications that will see "mechanical abuse" (like the handles of a tool!)Last edited by Curious.George; 01-01-2020, 10:23 AM.Comment

by AWFRONTI have recently purchased a Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen4 Twist with Dual Screen. Here are the links for the product information:
ThinkBook Plus Gen 4 (13″ Intel) | 13.3″ & 12″ Dual-Screen 2-in-1 Business Laptop | Lenovo UK
However, somehow the serial number and the product name is no longer showing under the BIOS, Windows 11 or Lenovo Vantage.
Strangely the laptop's under cover does not show any information about the Make, Model, Type or Serial Number (No sign of tampering but no labels etc...). I am not sure what to do.
I do not have access to the original box...06-21-2025, 11:09 AM -
by vraspHi,
I've been trying to build a Peltier circuit that I can control with arduino and create cooling ramps. I've never built a circuit before and only have a basic knowledge of electronics.
I've been researching how to do this and attempted to build it. My circuit is basically a PWM signal sent to a motor driver with an LC filter to smoothen the signal. Since very low temperatures are required, I added another Peltier on top of the first one. The top Peltier needs to be driven at a lower voltage to limit the amount of heat produced and effectively lower the temperature.... -
by kalemaroniHas anybody tested this product? Posting this question on a Facebook tech group I'm in got a few responses like "that kind of thing corrodes the tips" and "just using normal solder paste is much better" so I'm not looking for generic responses like that, but rather, does anybody know for certain whether this exact product is good or bad for soldering iron tips?
