I do not know if this is your particular model number Hakko 936 but here are schematics, component layout and parts list. With troubleshooting procedures.

    that's nice.
the only thing i would have done different is use connectors instead of screw terminals.

are you going with the "buttons" version or the "rotary encoder" version software ?

it was all in the first link.

the microcontroller is easy to program,
and i'm sure you can source an lcd display from some junk like a fax machine.
    or ebay one from china.

ok thanks, but i cannot find the part list for this board. do the sell whole board ready to use or just PCB? I will first like to see part list to check if i can find all of them.

    i suspect it's using a ptc,
but either way, i'd try replacing any op-amps.
and inspect the entire board too - after seeing in mine, i would never trust one of these Aoyue type units without a full inspection!

This is a schematic for a thermocouple type station. http://s020.**********/i706/1304/f7/f05b997dbf33.jpg
Actually there will be some voltage at its input. See how well this schematic matches your station. Look for the TL431 first.

I can add to the confusion. There are 2 basic types of heaters used in Hakko clones. One is actually the original Hakko heater which has a 50ohm PTC thermistor.
The other is a Chinese made heater that has a thermocouple. It must be a type K because when I connect my Fluke 87-5 to it on temperature range, I get an accurate temperatue reading of the day.
My Aoyue 936A uses the original Hakko type heater.
With the hand piece unplugged, I measure 6V at the socket pin holes for the thermistor.
If a station needs the Chinese type heater with thermocouple, I would expect to measure no voltage.
Tell us a lot about the PCB so we might figure it out.

what chips are on the board?
i had a bad hot air unit like your station, it had a lm386 i think it was - green corosion on the legs!
it also had a 555 timer with green crap on the legs too!

you need to see what amplifier chip is linked to the sensor.

so i have 58ohm from sensor and station wont start heating. But when i add 50 ohm i get total of 28-29 ohm, and it is heating. why is that?

i fix that, but back on begining. No heating unless i put aditional 50ohm resistor between sensor.

hmm, i test and it's OK. But now i see that i put 16V cap the voltage of board is 28V AC. I think that is the reason why it was blown

then a rectifier diode is shorted.

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
    by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
    by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Recommendations of quality soldering station and (separate) hot air station
    by caprider
    Hey,

I'm looking for some recommendations of a decent quality soldering station and a separate hot air station. I'm just a hobbyist, so even if (ultra)premium tools are not required, I still want some good tools. They should be available in Europe.

I now have a TS100 and some soldering irons and looking for some better tools.

    1. Soldering station, budget around 200-240€
JBC BT-2BWA seems to be a good product in the budget.

    2. Hot air station, budget around 200€
Up to now I've found ATTEN ST-862D to be a good option....

    wds-580 rework station issue

    Good day.
i received used bga rework station wds-580 which was not going above 300c despite the parameter was set to 350c, Everytime beeps at 300c so i did a factory reset and by mistake washed data and log etc. now the station boots to a white screen.

Does anyone has a firmware for this station and want to share with me. i will really appreciate any help possible..

    kind regards...

    Sumsour station 8586D error H-E
    by rmjimenez455@gmail.com
Hello everyone, next I have the following problem with the Sumsour 8586D 110v dual station I bought it a year ago and it worked wonderfully, now it presents the H-E error on the soldering iron side, the hot air side works correctly..... I disassembled the soldering iron head because the manual tells me that this error is due to ceramic resistance problems, in effect, I measured it and it is open, I bought a new one that is working verified in a soldering iron and nothing.... The same error continues, I proceeded to open the station and check visually, I found a totally damaged 1R00 surface mount...
