ATTEN 969 - Issues (ebay handle)

Hey I am having some issues with a soldering handle cutting out and going to S/E on my soldering station.

Would love to know if anyone else has had issues with this.

It appears to come better when I move the black thing on the iron's circuit.

    What function does this play?

I am unsure what this part is..

S/E = probably sensor error which may be due to a broken wire in the harness.

Should there be any problem using a YAHUA 862D soldering station with this.

Are all pin outs the same for 5 pin soldering handles or does the wiring very in them?

this was out of the box.. is there any suggestions on what type of handle to get as a replacement I don't think I will buy one of these off this seller again..

So the sensor is a black part I don't know what to call it or where to get a replacement the iron can still be fixed I guess its only a sensor error I keep getting.

when I short it temperature reads 3. - 4. cycling.

I have a new handle but I am still getting a sensor error. 2nd handle I have ordered and this has occurred what is going on with my soldering iron station.

maybe bad soldering in the base unit.
i know that sounds stupid having bad soldering in a soldering system but it happens.

and although many irons are compatable, the plugs arent all wired the same.

Yeah, could be the handpiece socket or the soldering for the socket, especially if it was subjected to mechanical stress

I think it has something to do with base unit.

as the original handle does it as well.

                I have check voltage regulators.

                    the sensor isnt resistive,
                    it's a thermocouple - it generates a voltage.

                      907A knockoff soldering handle voltage
                      by spleenharvester
                      Hi all

Element just blew on my 907A knockoff handle. I've ordered a new one, but checked the voltage at the element and it's reading in as 30V AC. Is this enough to kill the element, it should be 24V right?

                      Cheers

Backlight strip quality, Amazon vs Ebay vs ShopJimmy. Is there really a difference?
                      by DXseekerMO
                      Hello everyone!

Recently I've noticed that some ShopJimmy backlight strips don't have double-sided tape installed upon them when an application calls for it, and I must purchase the tape separately. In a recent chat conversation with a customer service agent I told them if this tape wasn't applied when it was called for I would begin to consider ordering my backlight strips elsewhere. It looks like this time may have come.

I recently got a TCL 65S4 with bad backlights. After looking at the SJ listing here: https://www.shopjimmy.com/tcl-jl-d65...365as-m-led-ba...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Elitebook 840 G5 Bios Chip Soldering Question
                      by Azurain
                      Hi everyone,

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G5 that I am trying to get working again. I've removed the front bios chip (the 32mb one) and have run it through HP unlocker already. I've uploaded and verified the new bin, but am now experiencing an issue that has led me to believe I've been soldering the chip back to the motherboard incorrectly.

Essentially, after re-soldering the chip back into its place and reassembling the laptop, the charging light immediately flashes orange and white and then shifts to a solid white. The capslock and numlock lights blink seven times...

                      Hello everyone!

I hope this is the correct place to post this, if not please let me know and I will post in the appropriate location.

I'm venturing into the intricate world of board repair within electronics, and I'm reaching out to this community for some guidance and shared wisdom. I have tried to do some research myself and find this information on my own, but I don't know what I don't know, and that is really starting to become an insurmountable issue that I cannot overcome. The only person I had nearby that I could turn to passed away recently so I do not have anyone...
