Rework station / ball flow rate meter.

It is supposed that the pump of a hot air rework is capable for 20 to 24 Liter per minute, but most flow meters on those items have a scale from 1 to 6 that is definably another measuring unit than l/min.

Does anyone haves a clue about this detail ?

My though was that this quiz it would be an easy one for anyone familiar with gallons per liter.

I am about to explore this Hot-Air Rework Diaphragm Pump & Basic Theory of Operation, as soon I receive the proper tool from eBay.

The air flow will be CFM or Litre/minute. I looked at AOYUE user manual which in the spec it has up to 20l/minute but the flow meter only shows 0~>5, the manual is really useless, it said to set it to more than 3 on the flow meter scale. So that 0~5 scale seems useless on the AOYUE station since it does not really show the ref unit of measurement not like HAKKO. I have no luck looking at other Chineses made rework stations which seems to use the same 0~5 scale.

I did try to convert 24 litre/minute to cfm and the result does not look expected or compatible with those 0-5.7 flow rate meter's.

My plan is, in two weeks that I will receive the external L/min flow meter from eBay, to make a detailed cross reference chart regarding scale.

My other problem is that my new rework station have an 28L pump which is more powerful than it flow meter scale and the ball goes at the top of the scale when the pump is just to 50% of speed.
Its like driving a 1800cc car which have the speedometer of one 1200cc car.
