Re: I fried my ESR Micro 3.1 ...

Well, I am still looking on motherboards and LCD monitor boards, and still nothing for a 1 Ohm resistor. I'm not sure if it's included in the ESR Micro repair kit. If so, I'm really thinking about getting at least one set.

Landed here after using the search terms "1 Ohm resistor 0805":

I'm wondering if there's an equivalent part I can use instead of this one. After putting two in the shopping cart, that ESR Micro repair kit's starting to look tasty.

You can try using a leaded resistor of the same wattage & tolerance. It looks like you would have room to solder it across the pads of the old SM one.

I suspect that there will be more blown components than just the 1 Ohm resistor though.

Optiplex 3050 micro 2 blinks followed by 3 blinks issue
        by Taurus12
Does anyone have an idea of what might be the issue with my 3050 micro? I have tried replacing new cmos battery but still the same

I am not sure if its the powersupply that I'm using is the issue since its the original powersupply. its a laptop powersupply with the same specifications with the 3050 micro so i guess it should be fine.

i also tried replacing the bios but with no avail, everytime i try another bios it gives a different blinking lights

Any recommendation on what I have to do next? Thanks in advance

[LA-J891P] Warm cpu on 19v rail injection, is it fried ?
        by tamerelapute
        Hi,
I'm learning electronics(already have some basics) by fixing a FH52M LA-J891P rev1B. It come from an acer nitro 5. The charger was defaulting upon pluging. The 19V rail resistance is 0ohm (I believe that caps screw my measurement). When i inject 5A, I get a rail tension of 1.3V, and 0.8V vcccore.
Except the cpu, I cant feel anything getting warmer.
I believe that it is normal, because the cpu is "eating" half the power I'm imputing.
I dont know if the cpu is fried, because I did not remove the big capacitor on vcccore.
I believe that if the cpu was fried,...

Possible to convert eMMC Socket to a micro SD Card socket?
        by Isabella91
I have seen many posts where the eMMC can be read via a SD card reader, however can the opposite be achieved?

Read/Write a Micro SD Card from an eMMC Socket.

I have a Motherboard with a Kingston BGA153 ball socket, using HS400 bus mode, which is 8bit, as Micro SD is usually 1bit or 4bit mode, I accept that a loss of speed in read/write will occur, but I would sill like to convert.

Theoretically speaking, Im thinking if I hard solder DAT0-3 from eMMC to SD Card Reader, this should force 4-bit mode, or only DAT0 to force 1-bit mode.

        Not to remove...

Fried capacitor on Dell-5520. Guilty as charged.
        by Lapsmith
While installing new SSD's in my new to me Dell 5520 laptop, I dropped a screw which sparked and fried a capacitor. Yes, I know I should have disconnecte the battery first Doh!😡. The laptop runs fine, but I want to replace the capacitor asap. I ordered and received the replacement (10uF, 25V 0603). Since I also managed to burn up one of the pads it was soldered to, my main question is whether it is okay to solder this capacitor on top of another capacitor (same size, same function in circuit). Specifically, PC4428 is bad and no way to easily solder to the board. I would like to solder it piggy...

        Unfortunately, when removing the chip
        (GIGADEVICE 25R256EYIG)
It broke in the hot air.
Will I be able to buy this same model?
