    Jetway 939agp-p

    Hello everybody.
I have acquired JetWay 939AGP-P mobo and it has Sacon FZ56caps.
The board is in almost like”NEW”condition and none of the caps showing any sign of failure.

I did my research here and I understand that FZ's are total garbage and will fail.

    Question?
I would like to recap this board so what caps would you recommend.

Here is what it currently has.
    330uF 16v 10x12
    1500uF 2.5V 10x12
    470uF 16v 8x10
    100uF 16v 6x8

    Thank you in advance...

    Re: Jetway 939agp-p

You could use Panasonic FM (not sure about availability. Where are you located?). Rubycon MBZ are usually good on motherboards as well. I recently replaced some Sacon FZ on a video card with these and they worked perfectly. They are available from badcaps.net. Nichicon HM are probably fine as well, as long as they were made after 2005. They are available from mouser.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Main PC: Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, 8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600, 240GB Intel 335 Series SSD, 750GB WD HDD, Sony Optiarc DVD RW, Palit nVidia GTX660 Ti, CoolerMaster N200 Case, Delta DPS-600MB 600W PSU, Hauppauge TV Tuner, Windows 7 Home Premium

    Office PC: HP ProLiant ML150 G3, 2x Xeon E5335 2GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 120GB Intel 530 SSD, 2x 250GB HDD, 2x 450GB 15K SAS HDD in RAID 1, 1x 2TB HDD, nVidia 8400GS, Delta DPS-650BB 650W PSU, Windows 7 Pro

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.. I'm in California. The city where I live does have few hobby shops. Unfortunately none of them sell or will get computer grade low esr caps. They only carry general purpose caps. Originally I wanted to go with FC, but I don't know where I can get them. Here is my list based on what's available @badcaps.net

Please tell me if it's ok.

      1500uF 6.3v MCZ 10x13
      330uF 25v ZL 10x12
      470uF 16v MBZ 8x12 or Samxon 470uF 16v GD 8x12
100uF 25v GK 6x12 I really would like to go with 6X10 or even 6x8, but I think I should be ok with 6x12…

Those should be fine. Panasonic FC are not recommended for motherboards, although they are OK in PSUs. I've replaced lots of fuhjyyu in antecs with them. You could probably order FC and FM from Digikey (I Think. I'm in Australia, so I don't really know).

Also, for the 470uF 16v caps, Rubycon are more highly regarded for reliability, although the Samxon are probably fine as well. You should be fine usung slightly larger caps for the 100uF, as long as they fit. If not, you will just have to be a bit creative with how you mount them. I often have to do that with Antec PSUs, as the FC are physically larger than the Fuhjyyu. I usually get around it by mounting them slightly off the PCB.

Hmm. I was under impression that FC was a very good choice for mobo repair.
I'll just go with ruby caps.

No, If you want to use panny on motherboards, use the FJ series, although they can be hard to come by.

                  Re: Jetway 939agp-p

Ok I just for fun I went to my local hobby shop and to my surprise they do have Pany FM 330uF 50v 10x30. They are taller, but will work on this mobo. And the price is only $0.18. They also have FC 1500uF 6.3v. same size.
                  I don't get it. willawake https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...44&postcount=4
posted that FC and FM as a good replacement cap and yet you say that FC no good. Not to be pain in the rear, but can you please explain as to why.

                    Re: Jetway 939agp-p

When willawake said that FC are good, he meant that they are reliable, which I do agree with. He wasn't saying that their characteristics made them excellent for use on motherboards.

In other words, They are very reliable, but their rated ESR is too high for use on a motherboard

                      Re: Jetway 939agp-p

Alright, today got my order from TOPCAT (thanks man), I also had OCZ ModStream 520W with ***** Fuhjyyu swollen. Computer crashed/blackout and restart under heavy gaming. Two 4700uF 10v were swollen. The others were visually ok.
So I did them all today with Ruby caps and it works like a dream, I'm typing on the computer powered by it.

                      Tomorrow will do the mobo.

                          Success!!!!
I'm happy to report that PSU and mobo are functioning properly. Performed few stress test by rendering few images in modo (this test stressing CPU quiet a bit), and did some 3dmark test to see what it can do. So far so good, very stable! I love it....!
I had hell of a time disordering some of the caps near the cpu, took forever.

                          Thanks dude..
Big thanks to TOPCAT for shipping them on time.
