    Pan TC-50PU54 8 Blinks

    SS board RF2001 and DG302 were both shorted causing P.S.
    to shut down. Shop Jimmy has a repair kit but it does not list the bad parts. I hate to assume that the kit has the parts needed. I could not find a data sheet for getting one capable of higher voltage and currents. Someone listed a 5R6 ohm sad resistor but not the footprint size. And a BD8694152 eight pin
    I but could not find it either.

    Pretty sure someone has sucessfully done a repair on these and posted. I believe the mounting screws are part of the issue with poor earthing. Is the resistor good or bad?

    That IC I suspect will be by ROHM, BD8694, C0ZBZ0001936. There's one listed on ebay but you can get those bits direct from Sears, Encompass, Partsimple,Best buy partstore, etc

    Would have to do a search , they may have only replaced that diode and IGBT?

      Still looking for you, for starters

      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...npa5623&page=2

      with that RF2001, what marking is after that? T3D? The suffix does mean something, 3=300v, D=double diode

        I looked for parts specs for 2 hours without much luck. The only good info was actually from this wonderfull websight! I broke down and ordered the Kit from Shop Jimmy. I hope it has the Dual Switching diode and transistor. It will take a few days to get it. Not long to install. I was hoping for spec sheets. being a common failure items I was hoping to find more durable diodes and transisors.
        What is C0ZBZ0001936 ?

          Post #58 followed the tech bulletin with sucess, no mention of replacing the driver IC.

          C0ZBZ0001936, is the panasonic part number to order if you wanted to go down that path.

          I think you should be safe with that kit, $20 , saves stuffing around.

          I don't think it's a component issue but more to do with the tech bulletin and arcing on the board not being tight and earthed.

          That resistor is M 5.6 OHM,J, 1/3W, So that would be metal film, 5%. Again if you had some scraps boards, fairly common on the IGBTs.

          the diode essentially will be 20A, 300V. if you have any dead SC or SS boards from 2010 good chance there's a RF2001, just needs to be 300V or more.

          The DG302 which can be smd or TO220 will be 330V 45A

            I have repaired a few of these...The problem is loose screws to the chassis causing bad earthing....
            Now,I have a shop jimmy kit right in front of me here
            TXNSS1SDUU repair kit
            ID:268697
            In the kit are:
            Q051=DG302
            IC501=BD8694
            D041=RF2001
            R051=5R6
            Bag with the 5 screws that have washers on them...

            So far every board i did,it was these 4 components....
            You can see at the places where the screws are,that it has been bad contact(arching)...I always sand thse areas of a bit for a clean contact....
            Hope this helps

              It's not the diodes and transistors fault,it's the screws and with the screws in the kit,it won't happen again...(check the other boards to for loose screws)

                So have you actually found that driver IC bad or just replacing because it's in the kit?

                Any chance you can post a picture of the kit contents for future reference including any documentation supplied?

                  First one I did,I tried to skip the IC(being lazy) and it told me really fast that YES,I needed to replace the IC as well...
                  The once I did after I just replaced all 4 parts blindly....(A been there,done that thing I guess)

                  I will take a picture of it tomorrow,not much to it,4 parts,each in their own little bag labeled as where they go and a single piece of paper showing what each part is...

                    yeah, why not if you got the parts. So I guess everything you replaced shorted again with the bad IC?

                    i was curious to see how much detail SJ gave like photos or instructions.

                    I guess the less info given the less liability, onus is on the repairer to know what they're doing.

                      Re: Pan TC-50PU54 8 Blinks

                      It didn't blow the parts but I could hear instantly it wasn't happy. ( had switch on my power bar ready to kill power)
                      There is no info on how to do it. They just labeled the components like they are on the pcb
                      It's pretty straight forward.

                        pics as promised...I seem to have lost the piece of paper that was in it,but like I said,no info or "how to" on it....
                        Pic#3 shows the bad connection you need to clean up before installing new screws,I sand them off a bit myself...

                          Hi everyone, I am new here but also am working on a Panasonic Plasma with exactly the same issues, is there anyway to test the small IC, on the one I have the Mosfet is shorted gate drain and source, the diode is still ok, but the small resistor of 5.6 ohms is toasted too, looks like the screw issue again how silly is this fault, parts are very hard to find and very expensive here in the UK, I am thinking to import them from China from Ali Express, I am already tied in on the quote ive given for the repair so I can't start wasting money, well guys these threads have been very useful indeed, but parts are very hard to find in the UK for these sets.
