Re: Lg 42pj350
I have been working on one of these LG sets recently, and have found they are a bit of a troublesome set, they seem to have a few stock faults, engineers seem to want to hide whats causing these issues which not only wastes people like you and me who are trying to fix them, but is also highly frustrating.
The power Supply on many of these 42-50" sets uses a Thyristor, and Resistor Load system, when you switch the tv off a microchip underneath the psu sends a Discharge signal (16 V) to the Thyristor, this opens a gate slowly and discharges the capacitors...

Plasma Model PS51E530A3W No Picture please help?
I have been repairing TV SETS A long time, but occasionally I GET ONE IN THAT beats me, this is that one, this set came to me from a chap that said he was watching it, went to kitchen, came back and it had no picture again, my immediate thoughts are Ysus panel, however this is doing such strange things I am confussed, i am better on lcd sets but when i get a plasma it always causes me a headache, this is also now doing so.
Samsung Plasma.
Problems I have so far, I have checked all the ICs on the buffer boards and can't find any shorts, i presume my method of setting my...

Re: LG 42LT75 no backlight
Further to my last message, the set is now working, i have spent hours on this as your see by my post times, here is what I did.
As the O/P stated this is a weird fault, but in the end was logical, it boils down to a combination of bad solder joints capacitors and luck, replace all obvious bulging caps, ESr the rest, replace the 22nf ballast caps on the inverter output, this may resolve the backlight issue, it says 6kv, but 3kv are fine as it only hits 1800v on run, still no good? resolder the 1uf 600v box cap at the back of the inverter transformer,...

Re: LG 42LT75 no backlight
Hi, i re capped my set it all came on fine for a few mins, then the screen went off, sound stayed on, i have checked all caps, esr, swapped parts in and out, you name it i have done it, the drive voltage to the pwm IC Fan7382 is about 14.5v which is normal between pin 1 and 4, the two other pins seem to be for a logik pulse, i am in middle doing this as im bit annoyed with it as the TV has only come in for what i thought was a cheapo re cap, half a dozen puffed up caps and i thought easy peasy, then this happened, there is no logik whatsoever on this panel,...

Re: Can you help me find replacement Panasonic tansistors?
Cheers for your info but I won't be buying at that price its totally ridiculus as I can import 10 parts for less then that from Aliexpress, I think the customer will have to wait on this one...;-)

Re: Pan TC-50PU54 8 Blinks
Hi everyone, I am new here but also am working on a Panasonic Plasma with exactly the same issues, is there anyway to test the small IC, on the one I have the Mosfet is shorted gate drain and source, the diode is still ok, but the small resistor of 5.6 ohms is toasted too, looks like the screw issue again how silly is this fault, parts are very hard to find and very expensive here in the UK, I am thinking to import them from China from Ali Express, I am already tied in on the quote ive given for the repair so I can't start wasting money, well guys these...

Re: Can you help me find replacement Panasonic tansistors?
Hi all,
I am in the UK I am also after this Transistor in a 220 standard Transistor package not the SMD one, i have looked all over the place to no avail, it seems this is a comon fault on Panasonic Plasma sets, it is caused in the main by a loose screw on the ground, this floats the ground which seems to take out that Transistor, If anyone can point me to a supply in the UK that would be helpful, Otherwise I too will have to import the spares, Tim Hoad....
