HP x20LED - bright horizontal lines

This monitor has a bunch of horizontal lines that are brighter than they are supposed to be. The lines fade from left to right, so the right side of the screen looks normal. The lines appear over the OSD and when there is no video signal, so there is nothing wrong with the computer. The lines are always in the same place while the monitor is powered on, but there is a very small chance that some of the lines will disappear or new lines will appear when it is turned off for a while and turned back on. Since these pictures were taken, the brightest line you can see has disappeared and been replaced by several more bright (almost white) lines.

These lines have been there since the monitor was a few weeks old, and it has been like this for months.

I haven't seen this kind of failure before. Can this be repaired?

If it was faulty from new why didnt you take it back? Is it still in warranty?

I don't remember there being any real warranty, but I could check. All I remember was a 30-day guarantee from Walmart. It worked when it was new, but it lasted about as long as every electronic device I've seen that came from Walmart.

Could be a faulty panel, try with the brightness down a notch and check the resolution. You could also try cleaning the connector that goes to the panel
        from the main board.

The brightness is already turned all the way down, and this appears at all resolutions.

I'll have to open it and look inside.

It looks like it has a bad panel. I don't think it's worth repairing. I cleaned both ends of the LVDS cable and looked for bad solder joints or tab bonds. I didn't see anything wrong that I could repair.

Strangely, the cable to the button board has thicker wire than the LVDS cable or the power cable for the LED driver.

The panel is an LG LM200WD3 (TL)(C9).

I can post pictures of the inside if anyone wants to see them.

Here are the pictures I took last year. They might help someone.

Yeah, I think that is a panel issue. Nothing you can do about. Cheap LCD monitors are cheap.

Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34" - Horizontal lines

                  Hello everyone,

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have a Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34". A few weeks ago it started to show (or not showing) horizontal lines. Of course, it's outside of the warranty period.

After some hours of reading and watching videos I disassembled the monitor and checked the ribbons that go from the TCON board to the panel PCB. If I disconnect the ribbon for the right side of the panel, the other half shows a perfect image. I ordered a "new" TCON, installed it and the issue persists so that tells me it must...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                  HI ALL
i have the above board 715G7282-P01-001-0H3S WHICH SHOWS horizontal lines.

on power board i noticed 3 capacitors that changed color.
these 3 capacitors are connected to the positive side of main capacitor.
i have no schematic and i do not know the values.
                  those are c921,922,923.
                  c921 is removed.
                  how can i substitute.

                  thanks...

                  Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Philips 243v5lhsb00 Monitor Picture too bright
                  by Schwoin
                  Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.
