I picked this up for $20, Started out with an excellent picture, after on for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours the screen went to these vertical lines (see pics.) all at once, It will not come back on by tapping around the screen, I used cold spray on the main board but that didn't help, I can't locate the T-CON Board as was going to cold spray it, there are some on e-bay for this Model TV but I can't even see a board in this set like what I've seen on e-bay, I checked and reseated LVDS cables but nothing helps, I would think that a tab bonding problem would be obvious, could it be a bad Panel? does anyone have any Ideas? as you can see from the picture the ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to a smaller board at the top of the panel and this board and another narrow board ( I assume these are panel boards/part of the panel) both have have 1 ribbon cable on each out to ? can't see where they go. could the T-CON cause the problem? maybe it's hidden on the other side of the metal chassis. Also the panel itself is not cracked anywhere.

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
Okay, I found this main board at shopjimmy.com http://www.shopjimmy.com/lg-ebu60926...32ld350-ub.htm
I'm wondering if it's possible that the T-CON is integrated on this board. This is the exact replacement for My Main board used in this set. -
Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
The T-con is on the panel on this model.
It is a defective LCD panel but repairable. Sharp seem to encounter tab bond issues too, like most manufacturers of LCD modules (Samsung, LG Display, Chi-Mei...)

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
I saw the video but can't even get a picture at all by pushing around on the panel boards, btw, when it went to the screen with lines I was cycling through different inputs at the time, but I think it was just coincidence.I put it back together for now, will see if it will work again after sitting several hours. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.Comment

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
Left it sitting for 6 hours and still has lines, disassembled by removing front bezel and metal frame over tab bonds, now can see both narrow boards that connect to all the tabs to the LCD Panel, this picture is a ribbon cable that connects the two narrow boards together, I can not get normal video to return at all, I tried reseating the ribbon cable several times, pushing on the tabs and boards do nothing at all. So I'm guessing the LCD Panel or ribbon cable is bad. I wonder if this pictured ribbon cable is available.Last edited by MisterD; 01-19-2013, 10:15 PM.Comment

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
Okay, I left this off overnight and still had vertical lines, I can tell the Video is being processed and displayed on the screen by the different movement of the lines,( using a dvd player ) I have completely removed the LCD Panel and examined it and see nothing that indicates bad tab bonding, every ribbon cable off the tabs that go to the panel are hot to the touch, I can not get any results at all when pushing down on tab bonding, I reinstalled the Panel and I'm wondering if two narrow boards that have the tab bonding could possibly have a defective component that has failed rather than the tab bonding itself, or possibly the ribbon jumper cable in the picture in post #7 could be damaged although it appears to be okay. maybe budm or tom66 will chime in to give me some more advise.I feel like there's a way to fix this but just not sure what can be done to save this set.Comment

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
If the lines fade and flicker, there's no way the main board can do that, so let's rule that out.
It's t-con or panel, and since this doesn't have a t-con board, either something on the panel board is faulty or one of the driver ICs on the tab bond is. Sometimes the driver ICs can require pressure from underneath them, see here.

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
I took a hair dryer and heated tab bonds and as soon as I started heating on the far right tab bond and also the board shown here with the IC's I got this top 1/3 of picture, then turned set off and back on and now have a normal picture for the last 10 minutes, pushing on tab bonds have no affect now either, picture looks good. I wonder if it's possible to make these tab bonds actually re-bond by heating them? I'll see how long it last and also will use cold spray on chips to see if I can get it to go back to lines.Comment

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
I'd try wedging something under the far left and right bonds. Be careful not to damage them. With this type of repair I am not sure I would trust it so I would just keep it for myself. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
Okay, here's the section of the board I'm heating and cooling, when cooling the display has the lines again, when heating it goes back to a good picture, starts out with the top section good, then powering set off then back on again restores to normal picture. I wonder if its a bad solder connection or one of the chips failing?
Oh, it just failed again while typing this and this time I was able to push down real hard on the far right tab bond to restore the picture, but this also flexed the circuit board.Comment

Try nozzling the heat directly on those ICs though I suspect the tab bonds are the actual fault. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
I found a piece old rubber inner tube from a bicycle, cut out 2 sections about 2 1/2" long, folded one and placed it on the underneath side of the tab bond and the did the same with the other on the top side of the tab bond, held these in place with electrical tape, re-assembled metal frame around LCD Panel, used a piece of very good strong sticky duct tape to squeeze together and hold the two halves of the metal frame to apply even more pressure to the tab bond area. only had a small section of inner tube so I only did the one section on the far right. so far it's still working and tapping around that area does Not cause any problems, so I will keep my fingers crossed, I will not sell this TV but will use it myself and see what happens. Thanks Tom for all the helpComment

Re: LG 32LD350-UB No Video after on awhile, vertical lines.
I also have a lg 32ld350, no picture, no image with flash light, but audio, from research i figured I would try replacing the tcon board, but from one tech on a video from youtube said you couldn't replace the tcon on some models because it was built in the panel now what do I do ..I see something about panel. I don't want to replace main board because I thought it was the t con, not to mention that tcon is cheaper to replace than main board...Comment

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

by lostoneHello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.
First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...-

by iampivotI have a Sony 55x8000f that has three vertical lines (three different colors), with the lines still showing when the cable from t-con board to the panel is disconnected. Am wondering what might be causing this? Unfixable panel problem?

by fredtredHello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.
Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.
(See Attachment 1)
Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires... - Loading...
