    Recaped some PSU`S

    Have done some reacaping:

FSP250-60MDN-120: bulging and leaking Fuhyyu 3300uF /10v caps, replaced all other Fuhyyu O/P caps too.
this unit is an oem for Medion, Germanies largest supermarket PC supplier.

Enermax EG365AX-VE: no leaking or bulgin caps, but replaced all 3300uF /10v and 2200uF /10v Fuhyyu caps for future performance (probabely build in 2002 or 2004) by Rubycon MCZ 2200uF/6,3v.

Seasonic FS400FS (new, but don`t know real manufakturing date); bulging and leaking 470uF /10v Fuhyyu on aux suply output (topswitch). Rplaced by Rubycon MCZ 1500uF /10v due to i don`t have had a smaler value.
3,3 and 5V outputcaps replaced for future performance.

    FSP350-60PN (PF):
unit is about 3 yuears old, powering a demanding amd Athlon xp 1700+@200mhz rig. All caps are loking fine, only Jamicon and one teapo there. As long as i dont own an esr meter, i àssume they are fine. This unit was bought retail.

Opend a brand new FSP350-60THA-P unit, there are only Jamicon and some teapo 3300uF for main O/P.
There are real big transformer an only diodes in the biger packing, not the cheap to220. This unit is an oem for Fujitsi-Siemens. So far i think this is an very beafy psu, sometimes there are offers on ebay for about 15€. But it lacks the -12v line, due to new atx V2 desing (24pin ATX conector and dual 12v line).

The only thing iam unsure are those input capazitors. In the Enermax unit there are an HP3 ones, i know there are quit good, but how long will this caps last?
in the FSP250w unit there are two teapo inputfilter caps, how long can i expect from those to live?

KDM 480W PSU upgrade succes! (opinions?)
      by bauto601
Back in 2020 i bought a (2nd hand) compact ATX psu to replace my current one. My PC case only fits very short ATX power supplies so i didn't really have the choice of buying a decent 80Plus unit. The current unit is a modded YoungYear unit that i made a thread about a while ago:
A "nice" YoungYear unit? - Badcaps

The "new" unit is a KDM-M6480 480W psu, the 480W number is a typical KDM bullshit claim of course, but the 24A rating on the 12V rail seemed reasonable and the "Active PFC" claim gave me a bit of hope that this was going to be decent-ish....

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
      by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

IBM NetVista Pentium III - USI Motherboard w/ Teapo SC
      by iMic
      Hi folks,

I have a couple of IBM NetVista desktop computers from around 2000-2001. They have Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) Pro286i motherboards, 733MHz Pentium III processors, and a whole bunch of bad Teapo capacitors. One board has visibly bad and venting capacitors, while the other doesn't look too bad so far.

The board with venting caps works fine, while the good looking board occasionally refuses to power on unless it's left for about 30 seconds after connecting the power - even with a known good power supply. (I am however aware I'll need to check the PSU...

Bose Companion 5 - Unit Powers On then Cuts Off Shortly After
      by nobbnobb1
      Hi guys,

Trying to salvage a Bose Companion 5 computer speaker system that powers off shortly after powering on. It's got a primary USB input (built in DAC) and an aux 3.5mm input. The USB appears to be the primarily source that tells the unit to power on (control pod LED goes green) as the unit has no power switch.

When I first connect power to the unit, plug in the USB, it will play audio nicely for a minute before it drops out and the unit appears to go into standby (control pod LED goes red). It stays in standby and I cannot seem to power it back on without physically...

      A Dead/DOA Gigabyte GP-P450b 450W ATX PSU
      by momaka
More eBay specials: this time a Gigabyte GP-P450b 450W ATX PSU for $8 with free S&H. Listed “For part/not working”, as usual. Showed up in a beat up EVGA box without any padding… but that's understandable given the total price. PSU made it out fine without damage. It's a non-modular (yay!), pretty modern-day looking PSU with a black paint and all black cables (meh, not my favorite, but figure it's good to keep a few of these in case I do need one for a more modern PC build, just so my old gray boxes don't look too odd in there.)

And a shot of the label:...
