What does the y sus board do in a plasma TV. My TV has vertical lines and no real picture. Do I need to replace that?

Re: What is a y sus
Coppell tv repair. Go there. They offer great advice. and they don't charge you for that. This is rare in business today. I read their advice on the the YDRVboards and it is accurate. I've tested and replaced 2 of them on my 50" plasma, Fixed my problem for the cost of the boards andmailing. ($37 each board.) I first replaced the bottom board, then the top went bad about 1 week later. i replaced it and BINGO! it has been working good for a couple months now. I only now heard about their blog. I am impressed. Straight advice.Comment

A related question, what is a Z-sus?My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.Comment

A shorted cap or resistor at the YSUS power output line would result EXACTLY in a vertical line as I have witnessed a few times; a shorted buffer would have the exact same effect.
Granted, a shorted buffer is a whole lot more common than a shorted capacitor at the YSUS output...and yet I've seen that too and it is simply incorrect to say that vertical lines can't be caused by YSUS.
It is unlikely yet certainly not impossible.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words!Comment

by ArMaaN376Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.

by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
by KYBOSHPicked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on... -
by Borse2008Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice or opinions on what to do with a monitor issue I’ve run into. Apologies in advance is this crossovers a few forum categories.
I have a Dell U3425WE, which I've recently replaced with another model. That said, the original unit is still fully functional in terms of the display — it works perfectly over HDMI and DisplayPort. However, the USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 ports have stopped functioning correctly. The Issue:- The 90W Thunderbolt 4 port (circled in the photo) no longer charges or powers any device, including laptops or MacBooks.
