I have a locked BIOS from an HP800 series G1. The BIOS has both an Administrator and a User. I managed to unlock the Administrator using the HPUnlocker tool. All I can do now is enter as Guest User. Can someone kindly clear the user?

Just to clarify this is the BIOS from the HP EliteBook 800 series G1 notebook (HP 820/840/850).
Not the EliteDesk 800. -

Cool, thanks for replying my question. For a moment there I thought I was speaking Chinese and no could understand what I was asking.
Thanks for your effort at preparing this binary for me. Unfortunately it did not work. The only difference now is user string Sam Mason has been substituted for a blank string. The user password is still expected. Did you just replace the user string by hand? Or do you have a specific tool that you are using? It would be good to have this information but if it's proprietary and if the IP is yours then you're by all means entitled to said position.Comment

Actually there is a trick to solve this problem. You need to set a fresh BIOS Administrator password. Then login again as Administrator using your new password and then delete users and their corresponding passwords from there on. So this is perfectly sound and logical so long as the device can be fully accessed as the Administrator.Comment

I personally hate what the industry does with BIOS passwords. Setting passwords renders system next to useless in the event that passwords get lost. The security gains from setting BIOS passwords are questionable at best. In the end it's an immense waste of resources.Comment

BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC.... -

In the last 8 months I have manually flashed about 150 HP laptops (BS series, Probook, Elitebook and Zbook). There are about 50 HP laptops, as I have already written before, they have been automatically flashed through windows updates.
Approximately 15% did not start after flashing.
I got the HP Pro, Elite and Zbook to work again with the exception of one using the familiar key combinations or the well known bios flash stick methode.

Hi, I have locked Vostro and Im trying to clear password flag from the bios dump but cant find anything closely related to what Im looking for in both vss stores (extracted via UEFI Tool).
Could someone point to an offset or region where I should look to remove password lock?

After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).
