Sharp Aquous 60" LCD tv TCON or LCD issue?

Hi guys

I just got this 60" SHARP Aquos TV for free but it has a problem.

1/4 of the LCD panel shows weird colours and artifacts. as seen on the attached picture.

I tried swapping the sides of the tcon board but the problem follows so I'm not sure what the issue is bad ribbon cable bad bonding cables to the LCD panel or ????

Please help.

The Model Number is LC60LE660U 60" Smart TV

I don't have any spare boards for this unit so to check to see if it's a TCON issue I swapped the ribbon cables going to the Panel from the left side to the right side and the problem was still on the left side so it looks like the TCON board is fine. I think I might be out of luck.

but your initial statement indicates that when you swapped, the problem follows??????

anyway, with the clarification, it does not look good as "vertical distortions" are usually a sign of a panel issue especially if it is a smaller section of the panel / side.

You try inspecting the tabs along the bottom on the troubled side to see if perhaps there is an obvious issue with a connection... maybe someone did some "window washing".

Be very careful handling the panel theyre VERY flimsy and easy to break, even the pros break m, be careful not to over tighten any screws that might be in the frame, on reassembly.

Well I found the problem. the panel is garbage but the rest of the boards are fine.

one of the the ribbon cables bonded to the lcd panel had the surface mounted long thin IC cracked in half.

The Sharp LCxxLExxxxs are known for failed panel drivers.
