Well I found the problem. the panel is garbage but the rest of the boards are fine.
one of the the ribbon cables bonded to the lcd panel had the surface mounted long thin IC cracked in half.

I don't have any spare boards for this unit so to check to see if it's a TCON issue I swapped the ribbon cables going to the Panel from the left side to the right side and the problem was still on the left side so it looks like the TCON board is fine. I think I might be out of luck....Leave a comment:

Sharp Aquous 60" LCD tv TCON or LCD issue?
Hi guys
I just got this 60" SHARP Aquos TV for free but it has a problem.
1/4 of the LCD panel shows weird colours and artifacts. as seen on the attached picture.
I tried swapping the sides of the tcon board but the problem follows so I'm not sure what the issue is bad ribbon cable bad bonding cables to the LCD panel or ????
Please help.
