Re: Panasonic TC-42PX14 Zener Diode
More explanations: Page 46, Q5522 monitors 4 Voltages to make sure they are present, SUB5V, BT30V, SUB9V, and FV15V through 4 OR GATES (Dual) diodes D5521, D5522.
That is why it is called VOLTAGE DROP ERROR DETECT since the MCU is not sending out the signal to turn on FV15 as I explained earlier.
Something is locking out the the MCU.Last edited by budm; 06-26-2012, 08:45 PM.Never stop learning

I really thought this was the problem as per panasonic Power Led Blinking
Timing Chart, it gives 4 possible reasons that causes the 10 blinks on A board
and Tuner Power SOS is one of them. As you can see, one end of the
Transistor Q5522 goes to the Tuner on the A board. OK back to the
drawing board. Thanks for your input.Comment

Re: Panasonic TC-42PX14 Zener Diode
That out put on the Collector is for sending the SIGNAL (SOS) indicating that one or more of the 4 power supplies have gone out, it is not used for powering the circuits, there should be no output from this transistor if all 4 power supplies are working. So the error light is correct since the transistor is turn on due to failed power supply.
If F15V is not present, then there will no sub1.8, sub1.3, sub5v, sub3.3v.So F15V is the key voltage source. as shown on page 46.
On page 49, are you getting STB3.3V feeding the MCU IC1100?Last edited by budm; 06-26-2012, 09:42 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Panasonic TC-42PX14 Zener Diode
Line 4 BUSS signal line:
TVSUBON on line 4 is the output from MCU IC110 PIN28 to feed the power supply to turn on IC603, its output is then feed IC502 pin 1 as I have already traced out in the PDF.Last edited by budm; 06-26-2012, 09:51 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Panasonic TC-42PX14 Zener Diode
Main key right now is that the MCU IC1100 pin 28 is not sending the signal to turn on F15V, that is the bottom line, there is no output from MCU.Never stop learning

Re: Panasonic TC-42PX14 Zener Diode
May be that is why you are not getting the signal output from MCU pin 28 to turn on the F15V.
Need to look through the diagrams to see who generates the STB3.3V.Never stop learning

Re: Panasonic TC-42PX14 Zener Diode
budm, sorry for not getting back to you. Took a vacation down
in southern Mexico, Morelia Michoacan. I got back a few days
ago, and got frustrated with this tv, I just went and bought
another A-board and tv worked fine. Sold tv on Craigslist.
Not sure if I want to buy another fixer upper, especially
Panasonic Plasma. You are one special guy, always here to
help the community on this Forum.Comment

by unimatrix93Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.
So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.
Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.
The led strips has 9 6V leds.

by sam_sam_samI have bought this Zener Diode for this project what size and wattage resistor value do I need to use to get near 50 watt output
I bought this from an eBay seller but unfortunately they only had one
I bought three from Vetco Electronics these are Sylvania ECG5185A 9.1@10w A to Stud what size and watt resistor do I need to use to get near 10 watt output
I bought three of from them to also make battery packs with this output power limit in mind
I want to use this battery pack and turn it into a 9.1 output battery pack output to eliminate using 9 volt battery... -
by nev1001Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help trying to fix the audio unit from a Maestro Mayhem 4.1 gaming chair please.
The chair has a few speakers and vibration motors. All was well, for a while, but now the sound is gone.
It may be significant that I discovered my son was powering it with a 19V laptop charger when it should run on 12V - it did fully work, for bit.
I think an issue could be a zener diode (or capacitor) which has shorted out.
The board's bluetooth input still works, the vibration motors are working, so is the line out socket but not the...-

by Vincenzo2My Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) lost it's backlight (confirmed with a flashlight test) and the connector on the PCB (it has one board that has a processor chip, switch mode power supply, and backlight circuit) that has the two wires that go to the backlight LED strips has a very low voltage (28-29 volts) when turned ON, in my opinion.
Started testing components and found an SMD diode or zener that is shorted (even zero fusing resistors read a few tens of milliohms, while this thing reads zero).
I put some pictures here to show that it is labeled "M7".... -
by hobostoveHey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.
Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.
There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.
The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.
It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284... - Loading...
