    Sony xbr 75x850e flashing lines

    https://youtu.be/ICJ084ZxN7w

Here is a video of the problem. I have replaced every board to no avail. There is no visible screen damage. Pressing on the bottom ribbon cables does nothing. The tcon board makes a faint screeching noise when the lines are present on the screen. Thanks

Maybe try the "cutoff tape" method, might not work but won't hurt anything, just be careful not to damage ribbon cables, never force anything, the clamp on the connector usually just flips up with a fingernail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7vl7-vZEL8

Panel problem, side tab bond Gate drive. Taped off may work, the panel may be made by Sharp so it may have side tab bond issue.

Re: Sony xbr 75x850e flashing lines

as suggested, your problem is probably a side tab problem. IF / when you take the back off, you will see at the bottom of the set where the tcon cables go towards the small narrow edge boards. It is quite likely that you have two narrow edge board "serving" each half of the panel. There is a "u" shaped "flex tape" cable interconnecting the two boards. It is unclampable, much like the cables at the tcon. With the power off / disconnected, unclamp one of the "U" cables.... power up and see what happens to the display / problem. Repeat the process, on the other side "pair" and again see what happens with the display. Go from there with your posted results.

Try as suggested in post # 2, if it works it most likely confirms a gate driver issue, which is a panel problem, mostly not fixable without proper equipment, it's quick and easy and what I would try first.

Thanks for the help I will upload pics tonight of the boards and panel but this panel does not have side tabs which baffles me. Are they some how integrated within the panel? I will try the tape and dissconectneach side of the tcon board and post the results with pics

you can't see the side tabs from the back.... you have remove the front bezel to see the tabs.

Yes I removed all the side bezels and there are no tabs, even lifted the lcd up a bit and nothing. I started to try the tape method and unhooking one side of the tcon causes just a fully white side with no distortion. Unhooking the other side still causes distortion with the white so I am guessing the side that takes away distortion is the problem side

One problem though...the screen will no longer display anything...just a black screen. The back light is on and I can tell there is something happening because when I hit buttons on the remote the screen dims and lights up...I tried the reset method with the green light and all but still no picture.

Here are some pics. I included one with the side bezel removed. Both sides look the same. No tabs. Lifted lcd layer up a bit and there are none tucked underneath either

Here is a video of the current problem that developed after unhooking tcon board. I can only get something to show up on one side of the picture by wiggling the tcon ribbon while loose.

Could be tab bond problem, here's how to check, just a little light pressure on them see if display changes or clears up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LysMj2Tcp4M

That usually means that you don't have the cable align properly in the connector or that there is an issue on the contacts at the end of the cable or in the connector. Look carefully to see what up. Further, when a cable is removed, there corresponding side should be white as you seen. IF that no longer happens, then there is a problem usually with the edge boards (ie. shorted / open smd components).
