Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
it sparks when i stick the probe in to make contact inside either connector and the backlights get brighter. what does ozone smell like? i did notice the 2 mosfets i replaced were hot and a few of the transformers were warm except 2 but i don't know if that means anything. the 2 that were not warm are circled in blue in the pic. any way to check to see if they are operating properly? i assume they are but i'm lost now. i even thought maybe they weren't making good contact at the connector so i unplugged both the probes from the dmm and stuck them in the connectors for the hell of it and it made the screen brighter except right in the middle it was like a faded black like it doesn't have enough voltage to heat the gases and push it all the way through the ccfl's. if that makes any sense...

p/n x322bv-hd8wxesbv2
s/n c11x322bcl4693
stamped on a metal plate 12020381 i don't know if the 1's are actually 1's or if its 202038
on sticker on back of panel t20120174
also 2012/02/13 manufactured date which means nothing for the problem
on sticker on back of panel 1lt32011c0u2 (32") 4365
this one was molded into the back of the plastic bezel behind the speaker which i didn't see last time
qf.311.001/002
none of them come up with anything on a google search. the only other number i remember seeing was one etched into the metal frame around the panel

Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
but i looked around and shopjimmy has my mainboard and it say the panel sticker number even though i can't find 1 on my tv so i don't know how they got it.
samsung LTA320AP27
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
The panel looks exactly like the one I've got on a Coby 32" tv. All I remember is that it was made by LG. I've got it put back together now, so I can't read it. Maybe this helps?
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
i'm just frustrated. i removed almost every component on the power supply and tested it and everything seems ok. i did notice that when i tried to check a ferrite bead with the tv on when i put the probe on these 2 ferrite beads circled in pink in the pic it made a tiny blue spark and started to make a humming noise and the voltage on the meter was erratic but thats only when the probe is touching it. but i don't know how or if you can check it see if they are bad etc. or if it is just because of where they are located or if something else is causing it. i don't know too much about the pfc area in which they are located. i think thats the pfc area. i think whatever the problem is in that area is why i am not getting enough power to the inverter to make my backlights come all the way on. i'm just grabbing at anything at this point. all ideas or help welcome!
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
ok so i narrowed it down but now i need someones help. it has to do with the transformer in previous post it is the transformer at the top left of the board. it is a 10pin transformer but only uses 8 pins. 1+2 go to a ground plane? 3+4 Pri. in? 7+8 sec. out? 10 hv out? 5 and 9 no pins and pin 6 is on the same trace as 7. only 3,4,7,8, and 10 have wires attached to pins. in circuit with dmm in 200ohm 3+4 .4ohms resistance 7+8 .4ohms 3 or 4 to 10 either .4 ohms or 0 ohms i can't remember and it is off the board now but will put back in and check if needed. 3 or 4 to 7 or 8 ol. but if i put it on 2000k setting i get a reading of around 600 and it rises i think but it shouldn't have any resistance at all should it? when checked out of circuit in 200ohm setting 3+4 .4ohm 7+8 .4 ohms 10 to any pin 0 resistance. and in 2000k out of circuit 3 or 4 to 7 or 8 it reads ol. ok now i think it has something to do with pin 8 because whenever i check anything with the tv on i get a tiny blue spark and crazy reading on my dmm but that only happens on all the components attached to the trace to pin 8 but here is the weird part it it gives the same weird readings but only on the trace attached to 1 of the pri. in for the inverter transformer and 2 of the pri. in for the other transformer. don't mind my soldering i took it apart so many times and put it back together i am not worried about it at this point. need help thanks in advance will explain if you don't understand my kids drawings on the pic and i have the gate and source backwards but oh well.
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
That is the inductor for the PFC Voltage booster circuit that provides the 370~400VDC for the inverter circuit, since you are getting the 370~400VDC on the main filter cap OK (I believe we already verify that earlier), that will not be the problem.
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
any ideas where else to look? is 62 ohms too high for the resistance between the 2 sec. pins on the inverter transformer? i just don't get it everything seems right...so it must be something on the secondary?
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
I ran out of idea myself, it can be the inverter transformer, possibly. It may be time to get the new board to try out.
One thing that still bugs me is how not ALL the lamps are not lighting up half way if the drive voltage is too low as shown in this picture: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...1&d=1389503318
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
this is a jerry rig fire waiting to happen i just did it to show that if i stick 2 probes in the connectors for the backlights that they now work. but what would cause it to do that?
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
No idea but guesses might include the connectors have become slack so pins/connectors not fully connecting may be some burn.carbon deposits which are conductive to an extent but on start up voltage do not function correctly.
secondly the socket pins may not be securely soldered to the board so giving the same result.- The weight of the probes is pulling on the pins making the connection better?
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
We have seen a number of these megmeet boards where the blue caps have had bad soldering and eventually burnt away the trace carbonising the board. This then has to be cut away and rebuilt with wires replacing traces.
Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?
After looking at the pictures of the lamps assembly, this panel use EEFL lamps which is why they can be connected in parallel without having ballast cap for each lamp. https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...c7431a6988.pdf
I will have to read the details regarding checking the high voltage on the last page.
