The problem is No picture, or sometimes picture with lines, sound ok, Back light O.K.
I removed the metal from around the lcd panel to gain access.
I suspected, tab bond, and it most likley is, except its NOT an issue with the tab bond to the PC board, it looks like an issue with the bond to the panel itself. I was able to lift the lcd panel up slightly and the picture was perfect, I then pressed lightly in the area circled and the picture would give lines etc. and sometimes would go out completely. When it went out completely the set would need to be turned off and back on to get the picture back.
With the panel lifted up about 1/4 inch and perfect picture I could press around the tab to pc bond and it had no effect, but touch in the area circled and lines all over that half of the screen.
So I think when people put pressure on the printed circuit side of the cable it flexes the cable at the panel giving a good connection for a while.
I will do some more checking to try and isolate it more. And there will be no video.
