    Re: lappys and firewire

I just placed an HP EliteBook 8430p with a client. Nice machine... aluminum case... sleek and sturdy.

HP sux for years due to over heating. This is an i5 (IIRC) and runs very cool. Excellent performance according to Everest. Right up there with my E8400 and DDR2-800 at 4-4-4-12.

Dell didn't have much to offer this time out. Oh well. They lose.
BTW, one of my clients can not buy a replacement CPU/Case fan for her Dimension... Dell says they no longer sell fan parts for out of warranty machines. Sounds lame, kinda like some dipshit in Bangalore didn't want to take her order.... She wants me to build her a high end go-getter... thanks, Dell!

Elitebook looks nice. Are they all swivel tablets? I bet they will be cheap and plentiful after a year or so.

Lenovo 300-15IBR - No SYSON, no SUSP#, bunch of missing voltages
            by mat2k
Hello, I've been struggling with this one today. I'm troubleshooting a Lenovo 300-15IBR (board BMWC1/BMWC2 NM-A471) that turns on the power LED and does a bit of fan spin but nothing else. 3v3sb and 5vsb present, no 1.05v, no 1.35vddr, no vcore, no 1.8vsb.
BIOS has been reflashed with one I found here, supposedly tested OK by someone else. I don't have an EC programmer unfortunately.
I looked around and SYSON is 0v, SUSP# is 0v too. Forcing them to 3v3 enables the 1.35v rail, but the 1.05v and 1.8v rails are still missing (generated by PU704). EN_1P05A signal is 3.3v, and IN_1P05A...

            MOTU TRAVELER MK3 AUDIO PROBLEM
            by falcontech
            Good Afternoon
I have a problem with this MOTU audio card, a traveler MK3, the connection to the computer is via firewire, the card is recognized by the computer (both mac and win) but I have no audio output, on the front there are a series of LEDs including the clock (44.1, 48, etc.) and that LED at the time of connection usually remains fixed telling me the clock frequency set on the computer, now at every start the LED in question remains flashing in most cases, sometimes it becomes fixed, other times it disappears, without any sign of operation, I exclude problems with the firewire chip,...

            Garmin Echo 101
            by sknepscheld
            Hi

I am busy repairing a Garmin Echo 101 device that has a blown IC.

The only information on the IC is IV7DF. (See attached foto)

I am not able to find this component or any replacement.

Are you perhaps able to assist me to identify the component or a possible replacement?

            Regards
