What are you looking for? I do those things to a point... I lean more towards circuit repairs and reverse engineering on ECU circuits.while alive { live(toFullest=true) } -

car ECUs get faulty rarely. Thus, you have to work in a big city to receive many faulty ECUs a month. you cannot open a repairshop just for ECU, because no costumer brings his/her car to you for ECU problems. instead, they go to car repair centers. therefore, you have to find a number of car repair centers that outsource their ECU repairs to you.

you need to study all the communication methods .
then there are things like can bus .
then learn about immobilisers .
once you understand how it works then you can start playing around with it .Comment

Anyways I have a lot of info regarding this. But I think you'd be better off learning some basics first, and luckily on Youtube there's a guy or 2 that I enjoy watching. One is scanner danner. His diagnostic style is very good, only sucky thing is he has a large brigade of tools backing him up. But you don't always need all those tools.
If you know the fundamentals you should be okay with just a multimeter. If you have a scope even better, alto you need 20:1 or some other probes for doing the Ignition tests but the rest you should be okay with. Like the Cam/Crank sensors and so on.
The other guy on youtube is LM Auto repairs. He's pretty good as well. And he sometimes do boardlevel repairs on the ECU's which is nice because that's where we come from....
If you can you should find some ECU documentation better if you can find a ECU(Physical) and documentation about it. So that you can play and fiddle with it. Study it and understand it. A common and easy one to get info on is the Bosch ME7.1/7.5 There are a lot available for that ECU. And it could be easy to get a physical one even if its broken... ECU's are pretty much all the same shit. Some do more some do less. Some share things some don't some cars have many some only one... So its pretty strait forward. But most importantly you shouldn't ever do anything you don't know because they are expensive esp the newer ones.... So you have to take that into consideration.
Maybe from a junkyard? They are in the VW/Audi which are plenty of.
Overall just read as much as possible. Other than that you can obviously ask here I'd answer whatever you ask best to my knowledge. I'm no pro yet though so take that in mind.
EDIT: You have to learn the basics of Auto electronics as well. Understand how things work in cars. Like take some wiring diagrams and see how things are handled esp with ground side switching. I mean auto electronics as in the bare basics. How the electric system is connected and setup in cars. Because you can have voltage at some places but no current flow. Ahh interesting. Yeah its because taking it to a mechanic or some shop would always cost a lot and then you have to worry about the repair shop and/or mechanic. You don't ever really know if they really know what they are doing.... People always assume the mechanics and repair shop know what they are doing...

AS i already said my car is ford fiesta 2002 1.4 dtci DIESEL
Can you tell me by this giving information if my flow sensor is faulty:
-at key on ,the 4th pin of my flow sensor gives me 0volt and the 5th gives 0V
-when i start the car the 4th pin still remains at 0V but the 5th gives up to 1.90 with acceleraring the pedal gase but cannot even reach 2V

i continue testing my flow sensor,now car on i get 2V on the pin 5 and when i accelerate the gase pedal i getting 2.4 OR 2.5 so on.but the problem is ,when still accelerating the EAC fail come on the board ,at the same time the voltage at pin 5 come straight down at 1.05 and it starts getting down and up like 1.04 to 2.0V
PLEASE can you tell me if my flow sensor is good?Comment

by bk304I am working on a Dell precision 3560 with a locked BIOS. I used AsProgrammer software with the CH341A v1.7 set at 3.3V. AsProgrammer is the only software that works with the CH341A that lists the W25R256JV. Reading the 25R256JV with this setup returned garbage results. I switched to my T48 programmer and it identified the chip as a 25Q256JV and appeared to read the chip perfectly.
I need to reprogram the chip but I am not sure if the programming the 25R256JV with the 25Q256JV setting will work. I don't want to risk bricking the computer.
Anybody have any experience or...-

by mcplslg123The mb under repair is FAROE_Dis_X32_MB-MV 18742-1(HP). It came completely dead. Found 19V is not passing thru 1st dc-in mosfet. After diagnosis, replaced BQ24781 with BQ24780S and it solved that part of the problem. Next found +3V LDO is shorted, so removed the +3V PWM but still shorted. Removed KBC9028Q-c and short is gone. I've soldered new SY8286BRAC and KB9028Q-C(both new). DC jack is glowing now but mb doesnt turns on as kbc needs programming.
I've SVOD1 which doesnt list kb9028 as an option. Still tried selecting kb9022 but doesnt work. The support has ended from SVOD-so... - Loading...
