    Award BIOS Settings Backup?

Hi, I've tried to find programs that allow me to save the current BIOS settings I've setup into a file so they can be restored if the BIOS gets cleared
I have been unable to find any such utils (some very recent mobos have the options in the BIOS tho, like my Maximus Formula)

But is it not possible to edit what setting get used when the "load optimized defaults" is selected in the BIOS?
I had a look with MODBIN6 but could not find the option to do it tho
The mobo in question is an old Epox 8RDA3+ with Award BIOS v6.00PG

    Re: Award BIOS Settings Backup?

sounds like you want genie bios like on DFI boards - you can save four different profiles for different settings - i think other board vendors should do this...

    DFI Lanparty NF2 Ultra B
    TICTAC 619XT Bios
    AMD Athlon XP-M 2600+ FQQ4C IDYHA I-Stepping
Speeze Vulture spin 3 Heatsink and Fan
    2x Mushkin XP4000 1024m DDR500 (1:1) @ 2.5-3-2-8 1T
    GeForce FX 5700 256m
    Zalman VF900 CU GPU cooler
    Skyhawk 400W Aluminium psu
Sharkoon Silent Eagle 1000 case fans

      Re: Award BIOS Settings Backup?

I use MODBIN6 to configure the Optimal and Safe settings on client BIOS for KG7-era boards. I've not done this with current boards, due to fear of MODBIN6 not knowing how to handle current BIOS. It has been a long time...

The editing process is somewhat tedious, but self-explanatory as you go through each settings. You *must* do this in a pure MS-DOS environment and FAT32 hard disk. When you are all done, you save to a .BIN file that you can load (flash) into the BIOS. IIRC, it creates a copy on the hard disk, then reloads it back to the chip.

          Re: Award BIOS Settings Backup?

Ahh yea, now I get how it works
Mobo modded fine, I changed all the values under "SETUP DEFAULT" in MODBIN6 to my liking
          It works great!
And on second notice it helped a bit to swap the 3v Lithium battery on the mobo too, it was completely dead

Ahh well, more beer, yes please

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
            by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Clevo W25CEW doesn't save Bios settings / shutdown issue
            by Conste
            Hello together,

I have a Clevo W25CEW (Terra 1541) with some strange symptoms:

            1. I cannot save Bios settings by pressing "save settings" in the bios. By pressing "save & exit" it will save the settings.

            2. I can boot normally (UEFI installation), but when I shut the machine down and start it after a few seconds again it will show resume from hibernation and shutdown after POST, just before windows would boot. Then it will go back to factory settings and my UEFI installation will not boot!

            Already changed the CMOS battery...

Asus BIOS How To Reset To Default Settings?
            by YG007
Hello... Where do I start. I have 2 questions/scenarios that might bring this laptop back to life, so here it goes!

I have this laptop (Asus UX52VS) where I was flashing the BIOS to it and it froze during the process. I didn't have a reliable BIOS chip programmer at the time (It was a CH341A USB Programmer from Amazon where it took hours just to get the clamp on the chip and then every time I read, it gave me different results/corruption, and never would pass the verify test as no 2 reads were the same data), so I brought it to a shop. They had it for almost 2 months, but during...

            BIOS Backup / extract 16MB .bin - Lenovo ThinkBook 13s G3 ACN - 20YA0005GE
            by DiddiAb
Recently I used the official Lenovo bios updater software on my ThinkBook 13s G3 ACN (20YA0005GE). The updating process failed and I got a black screen after powering the device. Of course I did not make an own backup before using the Lenovo bios updater.

I bought a CH341A programmer and was able to make a connection to the chip while it is still soldered on board. But I did not realise that the chip was a 16MB size and selected the wrong size (8Mbit / 1 MByte) before reading the content of my chip. So the dump I did before erasing the chip is only 1MByte big. I fear that I lost...

            by Chris_stand
            Hello,

i hope to find help her in the forum. It is a littlebit tricky. I searched many Days about disabling IntelME that was may major task. So i have a Clevo PD50PNN motherboard.

At first i tried to Backup the BIOS with tools direcly from Windows(normaly i am a Linux user). But no full success because not every part of the bios was readable. So i bought a modified CH341a for a Backup.

Backup worked but since the backup the Laptop is not booting anymore. I flashed the newest Version oft the BIOS with success, verfiy everything ok.
            But the...
