    abit be6 poly mod

    this one is from a homebrew arcade game.
    none of the original caps were bulging but the tayeh vrm output caps read 1.8 ohms esr in circut.
    most were 6 or more each out.
    vcore caps are now polys.
    no more reboot when doom is started!

          this one is not mame but could be.
          its win98se with some sort of menu setup.
          all built in an old tron cabinet with a 21" barco workstation monitor tore down to mount it.
          when i get caught up i will try to set it up with mame and the approx 1000 romsets we have between me and my friends.

                  Poly VVX-250 VOIP POE problem not booting fix

                  I've got a bunch of Poly VVX-250 VOIP phones that work fine as kind as long as they are plugged into the wall wart. Recently I got around to install a couple of TP-Link 5 port POE switches that are added to the existing plain Jane 24 port unmanaged switch. Great!!! Finally I am able to ditch the wall warts from these phones making more space on the desk, plus I am gaining some badly needed power outlets. So I thought.

                  Plugged in the first VVX-250 into the POE switch, booted up no problem. Plugged in the other Poly phones and they start to boot anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds,...

                  Greetings,

                  I have an Abit BE6-II motherboard that posts sporadically with the bare minimum components installed - CPU, RAM, PSU, and a Keyboard. I know it posts when the speaker beeps. Re-seating the components has no effect.

                  I thought the sporadic posting might be capacitor related. Upon inspection, non of the caps are bulged or leaking and they are all original. So, I pulled them ALL. While the ESR is OK, over half of them are leaking current between 1 and 2 mA. The biggest offenders are way out of spec, like a 1500uf / 6.3V measuring 2600uF and many of the 820uF caps...

                  Hi all

                  Hope this is in the correct place.

                  I'm planning on recapping both motherboards. I actually already ordered recplament caps for them, where I will be changing out most for poly's.
                  Could use some double checking to see if I'm not doing something stupid .

                  Hello All,

                  I am trying to repair an old Abit ST6-R motherboard.

                  The symptoms are the following:
                  I got it in a non-working state. I was told that it sometimes turned on, but many times just the CPU fan was spinning and no other signs of life, the board didn't POST, and now it doesn't POST at all.

                  It was full of bulged electrolytic capacitors, so I replaced all of them with new Low-ESR ones, but it didn't solve the problem.
                  If I install a CPU in the S370 socket, only the fans are spinning and no POST. There are no beep codes even if the RAM DIMMs...
