    XP SP3 Network Install.

Does anyone have a direct download link for Windows XP SP3, the full network install? I need it but Microsoft has taken it down. When I try downloading from the Internet Archive, it always fails before it reaches 100%. This is probably the 6th time I've tried downloading from them. Sometimes it makes it to 9MB or so, other times to around 200MB - 240MB.

    It's 316MB in size. Thanks!

I have it. I'll upload it to the server tomorrow and give you the link to it. Yes, it is 316mb.

A little update! I found a working SP3 (316MB) from a different Microsoft link. I just need to find a SP1 download now so I can install SP3. Thanks!

                Re: XP SP3 Network Install.

Do you think you could do me a favour and maybe check the SHA1 checksum for me? Or any SHA checksum? For the SP1 I mean? I think I found a copy, but when I go to install it, it errors out, saying some crap about the key is invalid and it thinks it's a pirated copy of XP. It has a COA sticker on the back and came from a hospital so I highly doubt it's illegal.

I'm thinking of just trying a fresh install of XP SP3 tomorrow. Just not too certain I'll be able to activate. Do you know if the activation servers are still up?

It is there, you get it by using the left pane to navigate, Microsoft> windows updates> service packs, etc. Use the Majorgeeks source for downloads not Microsofts who are the authors.

If Spork would learn how to use a web search engine or ftp search he would not need to ask for these common files.

I do know how to use a web search engine and ftp search. I had tried searching for the XP SP3 KB number, the actual filename, in double quotes of the service pack, etc. Every return just seemed to point to the old Microsoft servers. All I could think of was maybe people got in trouble for sharing the download and Microsoft might of just wanted them to link to it.

The two copies of SP3 that I did find, both only downloaded 200MB of the file and then stopped. It didn't error out or anything. It's almost as if the two sites who had copies just had truncated versions or something. Every time I tried running the 200MB version, it just refused to run.

I even tried downloading it on a different machine with a different OS. Same 200MB. I finally found a site that had the 200MB version but also said Microsoft put the service pack back up on their servers. I tried that link, and sure enough, I got the 316MB file. Thanks for the help.

                                          Tried (only with keyboard/mouse connected):
                                          • BIOS + database update
                                          • Using latest Windows 11 image built with official image creation tool
                                          • Previous setup version for Windows 11 installer
                                          • Replacing SSD without a slow block (the previous SSD had a slow block with access time > 500 mS)
                                          • TPM reset (worked to the point where DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error message is displayed briefly after the point of stalling)
                                          • Disabling power to WLAN and LAN modules in BIOS (Advanced > AMD PBS > PCI Express Configuration)
                                          ...

I just bought a new ThinkPad laptop and I need to connect it to my home network. I have several computers on my network and can see each other in File Explorer and the older ones can communicate with each other (even with the new one) but the ThinkPad can see the other computers but can't communicate with them. I get the (network error 0x80070035 The network path not found). I tried several scenarios that I found on line but none of them worked?? Since the other computers on the network can communicate fine I'm assuming the problem is with the setup of the ThinkPad? All computers are running Windows...

Maximum speed should be marked on network ports
                                          by japlytic
I noted that a number of consumer entertainment devices have the maximum speed marked on the wired network port and considering that there are broadband plans faster than 100 Mbit, the wired network port can be a bottleneck since some routers do not have Gigabit (only 100 Mbit) support for the WAN port let alone the wired network ports.

One other thing: Certain low cost network cables only have two pairs which limits speed to 100 Mbit.
