    Cheap Asus mobo, Good Caps?

Hey! I'm looking to buy a cheap computer and I don't want any advanced functions so I think this mobo will be just fine:

But how about the Caps on these cheap Asus mobos?

If I remember correctly that board has good caps consisting of Panasonic FJ, UCC KZG and polymers around the CPU.

Re: Cheap Asus mobo, Good Caps?

I googled a few pictures (google image) and found a bit of a mixture like stevo said
        (couldn't read the actual caps)

The picture at new egg seem to be polly's so yeah I say you would be safe from what I could tell.

its some what interesting actually re another Post on polly's and wet electros by davmax.

I am not disputing what he has said at all and agree, if you changed something you alter its operation
Latter VRM design would be optimized for best use of polymers

but I would just "love" to know whats been changed with regard to the VRM?
        (if anything?)

If the new egg photos are polymers
and not another type of wet electrolytic in a bare can
(I know my Asus uses cans that look the same with red printing and are polymers)

this link may die (but i'll post it anyway) here

newegg photo (not big enough for me) Here
(2nd photo is clearer view, top view)

the only thing I can see, is the cap count is reduced by 3 on the new egg photo.

love to have the two side by side for comparison.

I suspect buying power of caps and possibly PR spin (on polly's) is why the latter has polly's
(by the looks of it retro fitted, but did they tweak the VRM for them?)

Thats provided " IF " these 2 MB's are exactly the same, they appear to be?

        Guess Ill never know

        but I'am very curious.

        anyway

seems they are not using crap in the MB cap wise

        Cheers

Thanks for the movement! This is my first thread.

It sounds like the price doesn't have any effects on the quality of the caps. If I buy the board I can give you some pics and then you can see if there was any difference between the pics.

          Thanks for the advice
