No more dual boot in Linux Mint 17?

I've been using and loving Linux Mint 13 LTS. I decided to give Mint 17 a try.
You no longer have the option to install the new OS alongside an existing OS already on the HDD. I used to install Mint or Ubuntu on top of Win XP, but apparently this is no longer offered.

    Any workarounds or comments?

Install to a separate partition, then install grub to a /boot partition with that partition marked as bootable and you can use a Windows chainloader to load Windows.

      When did the problem happen?
My laptop had dual boot setup, ubuntu and windows 10.
It already had a moklist error, that would occur when i tried to boot ubuntu.

      Hello,

this is a very strange Problem:

Notebook hang instantly on Boot. BIOS is accesable.
Windows: instant after showing "loading circle", even Windows Boot Stick hang instant (even without installed SSD/NVME )
Linux: instantly (if Linux Boot in leagacy Mode with log messages: Machine Check exception after 0.25 sec)

      i have tried:
      - only one RAM Stick, another working RAM, both RAM channel
      - BIOS Flash to newest Version F.50, BIOS Reset
      - Memtest86 hang instant at Test 2

Nintendo Switch Oled HEG-001: Second-Stage Boot Failure
      by privato89
      Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with a HEG-001 motherboard that is unable to complete the Second-Stage Boot. I'd like to start directly with my conclusion, which is the decision to replace the MAX77621AEWI chip, and understand if it could be a correct evaluation.

Before I dive into the process that led me to this decision, I want to mention that I have a fully equipped lab where I can perform any kind of tests.

      Let's begin:

Following some guides online, I tried to understand how the Boot phase of the Nintendo Switch works, and what are the...

Razer blade 2022, 14" PI480 wont boot to OS, freezes

      Razer blade 2022, 14" PI480, Ryzen 6900HX, 16gb ram

I picked up a Razer blade 14" (2022) from a friend who said it "overheated" and he replaced one of the fans. He gave up on it as windows wouldn't work/re-install. He gave it to me, and i've been working on getting linux on it. Installing Mint i was able to get about 1/4 through the installer before it froze. Now i can't even get the installer to boot. I am met with a kernel panic.... sometimes. Sometimes it just hangs on the boot sequence.

I've run memtest quite a few times, and more often then not...
