    GT 630 or 8600 GTS

    Hey guys,

I have a pc that I built about a year ago and it currently has a GT 630 card in it. My problem is that this card is severely bottle necking the rest of my system.

I have two old 8600 GTS cards that were out of an old system and were set up in SLI.

My question is, will the two 8600 GTS cards, configured in SLI, perform better than my GT 630?

    Advice will be appreciated!

You have the cards, why don't you just try it and let us know the results. If does'nt work go back to the original configuration.

I'd say the gt630, but not by much. I believe the 630gt supports directx11 but the 8600 gts only directx10.
The Sli configuration will certainly win on noise and power consumption though.

Is there any possible way to use all 3?

          In SLi? No.

I dunno about performance, but the GT630 isn't affected by the substrate defect that is slowly killing 8600 cards off.

Doesn't have to be in SLI, just is there anyway to have 3 cards contribute to processing?

Well the GT 630 got about 15 - 20 fps on a benchmark test and the 8600 GTS only got 11 fps if lucky.

I guess I'm going to have to buy a new card.
