Getting nowhere trying to id parts to repair my board ( HP DM4-2000ea) which I mention in another thread.
So taking the plunge and found a cheap replacement on fleabay in the US.
Problem is its a different spec, and I wonder if there is info, (sure there is somewhere) on a quick rundown of comparability.
I have checked over the pics to compare the boards and plugs etc. and found only one ribbon connector not quite in the same place. New board is slightly older and is green where mine is blue.
And also that my board is an i3 and fixed cpu, where the sellers is socket, which they have kindly offered to include a free cpu.
There is a problem with the graphix but hopefully will resolve that. At least it works and is cheap.
But really wondered about board size most obvious and any wildly different performance specs etc.
