would i be able to get more overclocking room if i put on better capacitors on a PNY verto geforce 4 mx440 or mx420 AGP 64mb card? and if so, how much more room to overclock?

Re: recapping geforce 4 mx440 for more overclocking room?
Hmm - doubtful if there's much headroom with just cap changes. It's more likely to be limited by RAM access times as well as GPU HSF cooling constraints. I'd recommend staying with the stock clock for stability and reliability - both of which can be improved with better caps, as well. -
Re: recapping geforce 4 mx440 for more overclocking room?
Yes. The speed of the memory used is a huge overclocking factor. Many boards come with memory chips that are rated at a higher speed than the card actually uses. If this is the case, you can 'overclock' the memory speed of the card straight away to the actual memory speed limit. Actual overclocking the core clock speed of the GPU really depends upon the card itself. Since you are talking about the geforce mx series cards. They do not seem to have a great impact from overclocking as far as I remember (you should research this). Changing the capacitors would not change the overclocking potential much.Comment

The Geforce2 MX was limited by RAM speed, and since the GF4 MX is the same architecture it might be similar.
Beyond caps, you might try finding a way to raise the voltage on the RAM so it will overclock better. Not sure how that would be accomplished though.Comment
