Re: identify this part
i have determined when i switched multimeter to ohms 200 and read the outer legs it measured .4 ohm on 200 setting.

Re: identify this part
i am led to believe it is a "capacitor array" or a "network capacitor" although i could be entirely wrong.

identify this part
part has red arrow pointing to it, came off of a car audio amplifier "american bass vfl 100.1"
the only writing on the orange part is "2220 A 10" and it is located behind the RCA inputs (which i took out)...

Re: help identify parts!
so basically your saying the board is compatible with 6 or 8 prong contacts just that itw as an 8 pronged jack originally but its universal because where the ground is for the 8 pronged is also overlapped with the 6 ?
hrmm... so should i try and solder the 6 pronged jack instead of the 8 pronged? i have a 6 laying around here but i still need to figure out that little orange part, i looked on some spare amplifiers i had laying around but they weren't on those....

Re: help identify parts!
okay here are more close up shots with a better focus, the only things i can describe about the orange part are that 3 contacts, the middle contact is bare with the contacts on the sides have graphite or some material similar. only numbers on the part are 2220 A 10.
the markings are so tiny i could barely even read them... they only have numbers, no other markings that i saw.
you can also see the RCA 8 contact that i need to find, i have only been able to track down RCA with 6 contacts......Last edited by daRk_Kon; 04-10-2011, 11:34 AM.

Re: help identify parts!
thank you for all your replies, i have searched for numerous places for this RCA, all i have found is the 6 pronged RCA rather than the 8 pronged.. so not sure how i can go about that.. but if i did i would have no idea of the pin layout... so i took another picture hopefully this is a little better quality than the rest...
also, where do i find the service manual cmj spoke of?...

help identify parts!
hello everyone, i am repairing an American Bass VFL 100.1 car audio amplifier. the RCAs are blown and i need to replace them. when i removed the blown RCAs, i noticed there is a small orange part that is cracked but it has no markings that i saw and have no clue what this part is..
i humbly ask two things:
where can i find an RCA with 4 prongs? *see pics below
and where can i find and replace that little orange part?
i do have a multimeter if you need me to measure anything on the part to see if it works...

Re: ground falt
how long did your power strip work for before it blew you across the room?

Re: ground falt
if your power supply works, you can test it with your multimeter to see if each wire reads the voltage its supposed to.
in order to do this, take your multimeter, switch it to DC 12v take your grounded wire into a black wire on the molex pins and the hot wire to the yellow, should read very close to 12v.
keep your lead in the black pin still and switch your hot wire lead out of the yellow and into red and it should read either 5 or 7 v i forget which.

does polarity matter on SMDs or resistors?

Voltage mod (need help with picking resistor)
i want to do both of the mods in this thread (first couple of posts) http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=23332
is there any place i can find a 10k ohms variable resistor? or should i even use a 10k ohms variable resistor?? or perhaps a different one?
heres where i got the info for a 10k ohms variable resistor http://forums.vr-zone.com/showthread.php?t=21718&page=2https://i want to do both of the mod...32<br />

Re: quick vid card detection question
turns out the GPU was fried. so thats why the lines were on the screen, i tried to replace the SMDs but it didnt work oh well i tried.

Re: quick vid card detection question
... trust me all of my hardware is fine, i have 17 of these cards and ive been testing them on this system, i just wanted to know if a capacitor on the board would stop it from being detected.
and the PCI has to be the primary as if you have the VGA cable in your AGP card it will not display a screen hence not being detected.

quick vid card detection question
on a video card if its not detected and bios beeps could the card itself be fried or could a capacitor be missing?
like i booted up with a PCI card, and went to device manager to check if the AGP card was there and it wasnt
