Re: What about sumsung computer?
I assume you mean a laptop? If so, then they're mid-range. Better than the total junk brands like Acer and Compaq, but not the best like ToshibaI love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

I would say that Samsung laptops are about the same quality as the brands mentioned above.

Re: What about sumsung computer?
Toshiba is as bad as Acer, Gateway, eMachines, and HP. Plus their designs are very plasticky. Samsung uses better materials on the outside I would assume the inside is better too. They could theoretically offer better value as well since they make their own RAM, hard drives, and displays. But I've never owned one.

Re: What about sumsung computer?
Toshiba switched to Quanta only two or three years ago, so none have lasted five years yet. My Satellite L750 doesn't seem to be very good quality and does some weird stuff once in a while.
I think the biggest problems I have with them are the quality of the keyboard and their service and support. You have to call them before you can get it repaired under warranty, and then they will make you reinstall Windows before doing any troubleshooting at all. They blame everything on Windows files being corrupt, including memory tests failing. Their repair center does poor work and doesn't even diagnose the problem correctly. I don't think they do any testing at all before or after the "repair." This is all on top of their refusal to give out service manuals to anyone except authorized repair centers (which aren't much better than Toshiba's own repair centers - they do actually fix the problem, but they trash Windows with a bunch of registry cleaners and delete every error log they can find so nobody can tell it was unstable before).

Re: What about sumsung computer?
I'll agree with you on the keyboards. I've had a few issues on some models with keyboards (most notable, the Satellite C850).
In Australia, though, their service and support is excellent. I've never had a badly done repair or wrong diagnosis. It's HP and Acer who have the bad support. Lenovo used to be good until about a year ago. Now, their support is so bad that it's actually illegal here, and they are banned form some government departments.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

Re: What about sumsung computer?
your all wrong! most major name laptops are made in China by FoxConn. the rest are made in taiwan by Quanta. the quality is all the same, because the only difference is the nameLast edited by firehawk_0071; 08-24-2013, 03:35 PM.

Re: What about sumsung computer?
Moved out of FAQ.
No, Foxconn doesn't do a lot of laptops... Quanta is the biggest and sadly the worst. Having seen a few Quanta made HPs, they do indeed suck, bad.
Not sure who made my Lenovo Ideapad p400 touch... it seems OK part quality wise but the workmanship was shoddy (loose and uninstalled screws internally).
FYI: Samsung also makes all in one's (touchscreen PCs) as well... They look nice but that's all I can tell...sigpic
