Finally found a good use for my extra touchscreen pc

I'll use it to stream Pandora.
    Epic I know /sarcasm

Problem is I think the VIA CPU is too crappy.
I installed the latest flash player and firefox and logged into Pandora anyway it's pretty slow... the music goes like s-t-u-tt-er then after about 10 seconds if I'm lucky it catches up for a while then it does it again. Yes, I've got AdBlock Plus running so no ads. What could I do to make it run better? Thing is, I don't want to use Chrome because the adblock on that sucks and won't block audio/video ads in Pandora.

    Any advice appreciated. Thanks...

It's not the cpu, it's the player.

Install foobar2k and play some mp3/aac files. If it doesn't stutter, it's not the cpu.

The player is definitely the problem. I don't think that any VIA CPU is too slow to play music. The audio stutters on Flash-based players on every computer I have used unless I didn't do anything else at the same time. Even moving the mouse would make the audio stutter.

Audio in flash video almost never stutters for me, even on this old Pentium 3 850 MHz beast that I use daily.

Perhaps this is a streaming problem? What kind of internet connection do you have?

I haven't tried Pandora on this computer, though. Perhaps I'll try it and let you know.

Just to report back that I tried Pandora and it runs absolutely fine on the P3. No stutter whatsoever. The CPU usage when viewing the page is quite low too (for a P3 anyways) - about 10-30%. It only goes to 100% for a few seconds when the song changes or when I press a button on the Pandora page. When the browser is minimized, the CPU usage is negligible.

That is strange. On both a 2.53GHz Pentium 4 and a Core i3-2330M, the audio stutters whenever something on the screen starts to move. It only happens for a fraction of a second instead of stuttering constantly while something is moving and only stopping when everything stops moving.

Pandora works great on my computer with an AMD Athlon 64x2 lame crap...
Surprised it doesn't work on an i3. Could it be something else?

As I said I gave it away.
He accidentally broke the RAM trying to get the sucker apart. They had a huge heatsink that apparently was glue on to the RAM so when he pulled the heatsink off it pulled one of the chips off of the single RAM stick.
                      It's PC133 SO-DIMM pain in the @$$

He's going to simply use it as a touchscreen monitor, and use a better PC as the, well, PC
