      Did it work with Deb/Gnome?
Edit: you could try Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux?

installing now, I took a long break to update the bios... which took a few tries do to mistakes with remastering the win 98.iso (forgot to add certain bios files).

hopefully updating to a post 1999 bios will make ACPI work again w/o modding the grub2 settings.

          well, bad news guys.

          the hdd croaked.

the debain install was taking waay too long... 4 hours later, i find it with an error. i reboot, grub rescue. (no surprise), reboot, hdd not detected by bios. power off, remove hdd, its hot and has a slight cooked drive smell (if that exists). after cool down time, the hdd shows up again, but I no longer trust the drive.

the sad part is that was my last working laptop hdd I had (not in another system)

this drive never did work right anyway...

add a PATA hdd to the list...

the only thing is my dad (the owner of the T22) my get jealous, as all he has is the stock 20gb 4200rpm IBM travelstar...

as for the find it list:

                2x 256mb PC100
PATA hdd (preferably 20gb or bigger)

no rush or anything, as I already have 2 much newer laptops that see real use... this is just for fun.

I've got a whole box of 40gb drives. 4200RPM is guaranteed... I doubt I'll find any 5400's, though. They were the original drives in our C640's before we upgraded them all to 80gb 5400RPM WD drives. I've hung on to them for no other reason than they still work, and I can't bring myself to throw away working equipment. This is also why I have a box with SDRAM SODIMM's, even though we have no laptops that use them anymore...

really. I may be interested in 3 of them (yes, 3)

                    -this laptop
                    -the t22
-an ITX board and a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter

as for the ram, if there are any pc100 modules kicking, PM me.

I might be interested too in some HDDs and 256 MB sticks of RAM (if you have any). Got a few old Dell C600 Pentium 3 laptops that work fine.

MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX (MS-16R6) LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON AFTER RESTARTING
                        by RdeveLabs
                        To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
