I think Minecraft 86'd my video card... either that or my motherboard did it.

My X1950 Pro video card bit the dust this morning. It was giving me issues when rendering scenes from minecraft, the VPU kept on crashing, and my system would occasionally reboot. My system otherwise runs fine as long as my GPU doesn't start having to "feed the gerbils" so to speak.

Ugh, I need a new motherboard, and a new video card badly. My current motherboard is an ECS NForce4M-A. I can't complain, its ran for no tellings how many thousands of power on time (I wouldnt be surprised if its over 9,000) and even survived a blown PSU and its been runng with a 125w 6400+ socket AM2 Athlon.

The problem with my board is that its OLD. Hell its basically a holdover from the socket 939 days. It doesn't have full SATA support (nforce 4 chipset didn't support it yet), only has the equivalent of SATA 1, no onboard video (I wanted it that way for some reason, less crap to die was my reasoning) crappy audio, no gigabit ethernet, so on and so forth.

I dunno what I am going to do. My CPU won't work in a new AM3 motherboard, AM2+ boards are getting harder to find and ae still pretty expensive (well only the AMD chipset based ones, I wouldn't have on of the newer Nvidia boards I hear they are crap and like to die), DDR3 is getting cheap cheap cheap (4 gigs for less than $20 now) and while my cpu can still hold it's own it is a power hog compared to the current generation of chips out nowadays.

    Time to start shopping.

      May I suggest this?

      http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157274

(check if cpu is supported, I'm not sure)

The integrated video card should be good enough for Minecraft... otherwise why not check ebay for some mb+cpu combo?

could be cap issues on the board and video card... what brands of lytics are on them?

          Could also be PSU troubles.

get a new board+cpu, you can probably replace everything for under $300 and be up to date.

Doubt minecraft did anything to your card. Heck, the lowly x1300 in my laptop runs it fine :P

How much $ you have to spend? I might be able to dig something up for you. I have a GTX260-216 sitting here for example

Yeah, it is an evga superclocked edition.

I took a pic like 4 months ago to post for sale then never got around to it lol but here's a pic of the box

I have a new cell phone now with a much better camera if you want a better pic.

Does that help identify it for sure as the same card as you have now?

                      by glovecaps
                      Hello,

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.

My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.

The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...

                      by Docus
                      Hi everyone 😀,

I'm here today to ask for help with repairing the motherboard of a Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH.

To give you some context, I'm passionate about computer repair so much so that I've invested in a lot of tools and started practicing on dead and old hardware. I've been learning how to solder and desolder components, mostly focusing on phone repairs.

Recently, I bought a broken Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH for just €150, and there are two main reasons why I made this purchase:
                      1. I already own the exact same model, but its plastic chassis is badly damaged.

                      by Archimedes
Subject is a blank screen issue in HP Envy 17-3290NR 3D version laptop with motherboard Louis V1.1 6050A2489901 MB-A02. Production year is 2012. This one is a 2nd hand motherboard which I could use it for few months only. Suddenly no output from the internal display and also no signal from HDMI port then Windows out of order after few boots.

Caps lock working normally and no HP's caps-lock warning blinks. Making a hard reset and replacing the RAM sticks or using different slots didn't help.

Fans are spinning. Blindly could install windows11 and got the device manager...

                      ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
                      by momaka
Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

                      CPU VRM area up close…...

Hi, I have some 32 bits computer motherboards that need repair, as they fail to
                      power on.

                      Here are some examples :

                      than 6.3 V.)

1 - Motherboard #1 : this is an Asrock K7VT2 (socket A) that still works well. To put it on test
                      I replaced capacitors with aluminum-polymer.
