Unlikely to be a BGA issue since you have tested all the paths for data. The chip is just refusing to work both 64bit paths at the same time. Like I said try another CPU just to make sure its not the problem.

Have you tried another CPU yet? There may be nothing wrong with the board, you are not done troubleshooting yet.

Looks like I may test the processor that's in my Acer Aspire M5630, which is also an E2180 lol.

Wait, it may not even be the channel!

It's possible that it also does that crap with both of the black slots used!

What? I thought you tested all the slots as shown in post https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...7&postcount=15

Are you now saying something different. It will be hard to find the problem if you change you mind about which slots work and which ones dont. And dont refer to them by color since you provided no picture of the board, refer to them by slot #.

Well, in the mid-2010s, IIRC, it randomly started working correctly again and had yet to see that issue again. But I don't have it anymore, because when I moved in 2016, it got transported to a filthy storage place and I rejected it or I just left it behind.

I have had a few pices of different electronic gear that that had intermentent problems . I blame the ghost .
