    Door Central Locking System

Could someone take a look at this schematic and tell me what size and type of capacitor I should use in this application? The information page indicates to place a capacitor across the blue/green wires but it doesn't show what size or type. Neither does it show whether the capacitor should be polarised. If polarised, which wire (green/blue) would be positive? Anyone's learned knowledge would be greatly appreciated..!?

    Re: Door Central Locking System

thats the motor power, i presume they are trying to supress noise.
so it's gonna be polyester film or ceramic, something low like 0.22 or 0.47uf
it needs to be close to the motor - so you need 4 of them.
some of those motor modules already have a ceramic cap inside them.

      Re: Door Central Locking System

I put one of those door lock modules in my old car and it used relays.
The cap(s) could be to help the module with arcing from the motor brushes, or the relays. I'm assuming the relay clicking arcs and can cause the module to crash. Solid-state mosfets H-bridge shouldn't care.
Ideal would be a cap across the motor feed and one on each leg to GND, so three caps total - one across blue/green, one from blue-GND, another green-GND.
But I'm lazy and would try just one film or ceramic cap like 0.1-0.47uF across the blue/green wires near the module. Adding one at each motor I think could make for messy wiring in the doors where dirt and water are, and then the insulation chafes and shorts etc. so it has to be done well.

I found it helpful to go to an auto wrecking yard and take some hardware like the rods, brackets or even the door lock motors from newer or similar make/model of vehicle, to save time and OEM motors are better than the chinese kit.

dont take motors from a scrapyard, they have a limited lifespan.
they are only 5-10$ on ali-express

Lift Master garage door opener with WiFi capability application through your phone
            by sam_sam_sam
I had a lot of trouble with the WiFi connection from my router inside of the house into a ( new ) metal garage I had to run a 150 ft cat6 patch cord so the WIFI connection would be strong enough for the WiFi connection on the garage door opener would work correctly ( my son has a work out area in the garage as well and he was having to put his phone near the door to be able to stream music ) ( so I was going to eventually put WiFi out there anyway )

This garage door opener WiFi is very touchy if you lose the power it does not remember the password for the router which is weird or...

Nescafe Aeroccino, still fails with new Motor (red flashes only once)
            by juergenb
            Hi,

i am asking for some Help.
I have one of these Nescafe Aeroccino (Milk Frother) things with a bad motor.
The Motor didn´t start anymore and internet is full of users just swapping the motor for a Mabuchi RF-500TB-12560.
So i got a few of these from Banggood.

I swapped the motor and now i have a new fault condition.

In a working Frother you would press the start button, it will light red and work for a few minutes.
If you press longer it will light blue and just mixup the milk.

With the new Motor it just starts...

Power board for a roller shutter door motor

Could somebody suggest an alternative diode (I think its a diode). It says A3 N93 but doesn't google anything similar. It has burnt board and is open circuit. It goes in between 1000mf 50 capacitor and a relay RLY1 connecting to bridge rectifier....

charnwood w821 mini wood lathe motor problem
            by sbt123
hi there,im having a look at repairing a wood lathe for my dad,(charnwood w821)the problem is when turning up the variable speed control, the motor starts to stop and start by itself,if i continue to turn up the speed it will trip the mcb in the consumer unit, there is also a slight smell of burning from the speed controll box.,Another strange symptom is the lathe can be unplugged from the mains after switching it off and the motor will spin a couple of times by itself,so far ive put a new speed controll potentiometer on and new motor brushes, ive also tested the motor windings and everything looks...

Motor run capacitor physical size vs voltage rating & measurements?
            by Per Hansson
            (TL;DR skip the first paragraph)
I encountered my first dead motor run capacitor at a customer this week.
For some fields I guess it is a very common occurrence but the usual way for industrial machines here is to use 3-phase motors.
(Unless a servo motor makes more sense that is).
But for some reason this 3-phase machine uses a 1-phase motor for its liquid coolant pump.
The pump would run but sometimes trip the 10A breaker.
I monitored it starting and stopping for over an hour until it finally stopped in a specific spot between its windings:
            Then it could...
