    Need to ID these caps

Sorry no pic yet. Topcat, Kc8adu, Williwake, AKOR, MDWillington- help is appreciated. These are in some of the IBM NetVista A40s.
    Description:
Aluminum housing- yes aluminum no plastic shrink on these babies. Markings are on top right on the vent area which is a faintly scored X. The first mark at about 12 o'clock is an eliptical O like the O in Oakley sunglasses. Then below it at 9 o'clock is a heavy black vertical bar with HD to the right and y1 to the right of that. Then below that is 1200 with finally 10V below it. I know the vertical bar marks the negative polrity of the cap. Who makes this? Anyone? Anyone? Ferris Beuller are you out there with the correct answer? Class? Anyone? Give it a shot. I'll post a pic when I get them out. I'm pretty sure they're causing this machine to not boot. PSu tests ok for now, just a matter of time for the the crap caps to puke in it too. I'll have to fix that's what the owner wants.

Need to ID these caps (update)

I've got some pics of what I'm trying to I.D. These are off one of many NetVista A40 I'm looking at. The boards vary as to what they contain, but this cap I have not seen until now. Most of the others are Chhsi and Teapo or Chhsi and what look to be Panasonic. Sorry about the lighting on the pan view shot, but it was very early in the morning. I will post some other pics later regarding the NetVista and it's psu which I mentioned in another thread. The proprietary piece of @#$% has an upper and lower PCB with Teapo and G-Luxon. Guess which brand blew first? Anyway here's the pics for I.D.

Re: Need to ID these caps

Thanks kc8adu. Though the Nichicon HD may be ok it's the Teapo in the top of the one pic that is sad. They cheated on that few. Over near the riser card slot are some HD snap-ins. Where the Teapo are on this board I have others with what appear to be Panasonics, but don't want to take the chance. Could be counterfeit. Most of the other machines have all Chhsi or Chhsi and Teapo on the MB while the Psu has Teapo and G-Luxon. Some MB have the 470uF in Chhsi and Rubycon though the Rubycon could be fakes with correct spelling. You're right it's a mixed bag. Mostly crap caps though.

Re: Need to ID these caps

KC8, While Nichicon has an HD series (it's the starting point for all the other H* series), and it has been (is?) sold without the polyester (or PVC) sleeve, that oval logo on the caps in the pic doesn't ring a bell. Are they really Nichicon?

Re: Need to ID these caps

i was thinking the same. search on nichicons site did not reveal similar photo. although they say they have eliminated pvc sleeving it is possible for sleeving to be present just made from different material.

Re: Need to ID these caps

Thanks, kc8. I think they are switching from PVC sleeving to polyester as part of their Pb-free change-over. You knew polyester had to be good for something besides leisure suits.

Re: Need to ID these caps

You are correct about smt versions of the same markings. I have some of those over by the riser card slot. I called them snap-ins in a previous post. I will confirm that the ones pictured are indeed all aluminum with NO sleeve. The O is what I question when you say Nichicon since this is not related to any of their previous markings. I was trying to confirm whether to swap these out along with the TEAPO at the top of the second pic or leave them and replace only the TEAPO.

Re: Need to ID these caps

seems pvc is being phased out too.
on 2 reels of smt tantalums i just got on the label i see
                        pb free
                        pvc less.
the ud parts i have are sprayed with some sort of laquer or poly.
