A capacitor bank on a monitor looks fine, not even a slight bulge or leak. But the power supply won't work unless the caps are heated. Can bad caps look ok?

When caps heat up, their ESR goes down.
List of values and brands of all the caps in the monitor and we can recommend replacements.

Could also be a bad solder joint somewhere. The heat expands things enough to bridge some small crack in a solder joint, and it works again.Comment

A friend's set-top box (before I fixed it) would only start up after 20 minutes (which had bulging capacitors).
A Samsung 172x LCD monitor had problems starting up cold (there was very brief blinks of the Power light, indicating a power supply problem), but would work OK when it warms up, even though the solder joints were OK. The output capacitors were CapXon GL (680uF 25V - closest to the output rectifier) and then a "JH" CD288 (470uF 25V). None of them were bulging. Replacing with another AC adaptor fixed the problem of not starting up when cold.My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.Comment

Hello, I have an "ASUS ROG Strix G713QR" laptop, and for approx. 3 months I have the following problems:
1. Laptop keyboard doesn't work
2. The backlight on the laptop keyboard doesn't work
3. The x2 side LEDs (red) on the laptop don't work
The power button works, the touchpad works, and all the USB, HDMI, Ethernet, etc. ports work.
I already tried to reinstall all the drivers and reinstall Windows. So I don't know what to try anymore that is software-related.
But I am strongly aiming that it is somehow a BIOS-related problem,... -
hello everyone, I have a particular problem with this lenovo ideapad 330s-15ikb. I had to replace the motherboard due to liquid damage, after replacing it I noticed that some letters on the keyboard do not work. So I bought a new keyboard and now all the keys work except the numeric keypad area. In practice the num lock key LED always remains on and the numbers do not work. Has anything like this ever happened to you? I also tried changing the keyboard again but the same defect remains on the numeric keypad.

I just bought a used one for a decent price for a used device it prints very nicely and clean and clearly so I am not going to complain about it but I would like to get it working again anyone have any suggestions on how to repair this back light
If I can not get the controller to work properly then I will probably have an external power supply for the backlight because it is difficult to see the screen without out it
One —>the LEDs might be bad
Two —> the buck converter or regular might be bad
Three —> the controller might not... -
Good afternoon friends
I have an Asus laptop motherboard X455LJ REV 3.1 that the touch pad does not work, I was trying to check if something was wrong at the drive level but I did all the necessary installations and the touchpad still does not work.
I have a feeling that the error goes more to the board level because the touchpad is not recognized by the device manager and it is supposed that even if it does not work correctly it has to be detected.
I even checked that the data bus made a connection between the touchpad and the motherboard and everything... -
