has a 25UF 250V cap with 3 pin (see picture)

was wondering if this would be the direct replacement as the original cap was custom made and never sold.

Check the two pins next to each other and see if they have a electrical connection ( 0 ohms ) if it does have one yes it should be the same

As long as the UF value and the voltage value are the same

These are common pump, fan, motor capacitors from china. Search for "CBB61 25uF" and you need at least a 240VAC rating.

BUT the Emerson is oddball having three spade terminals. Most common is two terminals and others have four, where the pair at each end are just connected together to simplify factory wiring. There are also flying leads versions out there. If you use a two terminal part, the two wires at the end (of the old part) need to be connected together.

The Nichicon EEC2E256HQA415 part at Digi-Key https://www.digikey.com/en/products/...HQA415/2231516 $16 is better quality and just leave the extra terminal unconnected/unused.

Otherwise, roll the dice and search Amazon or Aliexpress for the cheap stuff.
