Are These real Nichicon HZ or fake?

I've got these caps from my local distributor.
I'd like to know they're reals Nichicon HZ or fakes?
    please help me identify them.

I have several bags of HZ's and their printing looks more copper colored than yours.

When compared side-by-side to Pana FM's, the FM's are brass/gold and the HZ's are copper.

    Could be the lighting/flash.

Seems they're 4 years old too. Date code on mine is H0918

Here's a quick pic from some of mine.

Have these same exact nichicon HZ caps in this dell optiplex gx280 near the power supply. Same size and color.

These could be possible real HZ.

If I use these HZ 1000/16V caps to replace those others crap brand caps 2200/10V on PSUs, would be better or worst?

Usually it is not recommended to replace caps and reduce their capacity.
For what I have read on Badcaps it is better to replace with same size or greater size (+ 20%~30%).
If I were you, I would not udersize the caps, probably I would use 1500/1800uF not half of the original capacity.

Consider by Yourself . See attaches (not my pictures).
These amber coloured ones are all fakes that passed my hands, i replace them pronto, iff occur. The original HZ series, as You may see on the PDF too by the BW gradient, has the traditional grey-on-black colour.

The ones in your pics are HN not HZ. That's an iMac G5 mainboard.

Those are not fakes. Those -were- a known bad cap along with the HM series. Seems that Nichicon got caught in the bad electrolyte mess back then.

Excuse me, i wasn't enough punctual at searching.
So any of these amber-coloured Nichies aren't going well. They have sometimes much worse graphics on-printed, and the vent hole isn't as well-made (you can see these on high res images easily) as on other ones. I am still unsuire if they are real nichies, as the series are present, but none of them has these issues on the exterior design. Has Nichicon any white papers about this?

None that I've seen, but PCBONEZ has done more resource information than I. He may shed some light.

For better or worse, buying from an *Authorized Nichicon* reseller (according to their website, is the best bet. ANY cap, as we have come to see, has the possibility to be forged.

                      Hello,
Just opened a fake Nichicon cap. Checked the technical data, and nothing matches. The capacitance and ESR are okay though. Interestingly, the legs are made of brass ...

Capacitor Diarrhea - Nichicon PL Series
                      by DrewPhillips
Hello All, I have on the bench a couple of PSU's which have some failed Nichicon PL series caps. They didn't "puke" their guts through the top, but instead "diarrhea'ed" corrosive brown electrolyte through the bottom, down the legs and onto the board. On one cap, the electrolyte rotted the cap right off the board leaving 2 little stubs, and also corroded a trace on the foil side.

The PSU's are Power-One MAP series and are ringing-choke topology. The semiconductors have date codes in 1993. The PSU's were used in a commercial application, fan-cooled. They had failed...

                      Fake Nichicon PS series?
                      by s675
3 or 4 years ago I purchased a TDA7293 amplifier board from eBay.

I have never used it, but I looked at at and noticed that the large filter caps are ostensibly Nichicon PS(M) 2200uf 50v. They measure around 16x26mm (15x25mm?).

I was surprised that a cheap board would come with capacitors like these. The small ones on the rest of the board are various cheap brands.

This is more curiosity than anything else, but I wondered whether they are fake. In particular I noticed the difference in heat-shrink at the top, and the slightly different looking vents....

Is there datasheet for nichicon LXJ series?
                      by chth96
I want to calculate capacitor ESR referring to below guide.

                      https://forum.digikey.com/t/calculat...-from-tan/2633

                      I must find out dissipation factor(Tan(δ)) for nichicon lxj series(6.3v 1500uf,25v 1000uf ,10v 2200uf)
I finally found out datasheet which has all series of nichicon capacitor. But unfortunately, It removed old nichicon capacitor.
Is there anyone who still has old nichicon datasheet which has information of LXJ series?
