  • Re: Panasonic FC series - leaking? quality gone?

Storage time/shelf life is defined by wandering parameters, but hopefully not deteriorating sealing. My guess regarding this phenomenon is the leakage either stopped because the damaged material seals further leaking, or the leakage may have been occured during assembling (for example on the tip of the lead-in where the legs attached) and that made the only visible damage. It is suspicious why no further leakage present except the visible. I have seen capacitors leaking in storage but their damage was uneven and more advanced. At...

Some new findings here. Probably old stock (1999 September? Is it possible?), but this leakage is really disappointing. Do we have any information about how stable it is after this some leakage? Since there is no evidence of more leakage than this tiny amount already done its work. I will try to stress these with some ripple current to see if it gets worse tough. Measurements are fine except a tad higher Vloss. All 20 units affected and measured just around this one....

HP is OK so far,. but LP had a series between 2006 and 2010 date codes developing this:

  • Re: Samsung LN32C540 - Standby Light only.

    Hello guys!

I just came here by a google search. I have a BN4400339B. Wich is way different, but shares some similarities. It also had the nasty just power off, then after restart, or not, red LED lit, or not problem, after a total resoldering run, it lasted three months, then started again having this problem and having not on the test table... After these relentless hours spent, replacing FSFR1700U and the SIC capacitor (both of them are OK, capacitance is within 5 %, but for sure, i replaced it with a Wima FKP 1600 V rated...

  • Re: High voltage Capxon LP failing issues

Capxon LH series, and the Ost isn't affected, aswell younger Capxon's don't show any sign of beginning corrosion. Despite of that, CM6800 and its former L4800 counterparts have some issues regarding the PFC, maybe just requiring better qualty caps to work flawlessly....

  • Re: Are These real Nichicon HZ or fake?

Excuse me, i wasn't enough punctual at searching.
So any of these amber-coloured Nichies aren't going well. They have sometimes much worse graphics on-printed, and the vent hole isn't as well-made (you can see these on high res images easily) as on other ones. I am still unsuire if they are real nichies, as the series are present, but none of them has these issues on the exterior design. Has Nichicon any white papers about this?...

Consider by Yourself . See attaches (not my pictures).
These amber coloured ones are all fakes that passed my hands, i replace them pronto, iff occur. The original HZ series, as You may see on the PDF too by the BW gradient, has the traditional grey-on-black colour....

  • High voltage Capxon LP failing issues

Dear members! I have a blog about these craps and finally i feel the time right to post here too.

The story and possible background is described in details in hungarian. If needed, i will translate all of them. The basics in short:

So many FSP and OEM power supplies built around the CM6800 controller, commonly named as "green line", "Bluestorm II" and "Epsilon" suffering this. Symptoms are clear: PSU failing with low load, or even no load, buzzing noise. These are the least worries, but some of them failing with the PFC coil totally burnt...
