My ADSL modem is getting flaky. Opened it up and found Jackcon caps, none bulging, but man that thing runs hot. Some caps are hot to the touch and you cannot keep your finger on them for longer than ~5 seconds. Any recent findings of bad Jackcons? They have -07 datecodes on them.
Symptoms are:
- Large delay in page loading times. (This "Post New Thread" page took 228 seconds to fully load!) Even Google takes ~10 seconds to load.
It hasn't dropped the connection, but yesterday I power cycled it and the symptoms went away. Today, it's doing the delay thing again, and power cycling helped only mildly. Could dried up caps cause this?
Make and model is A-Link RR84.
Thanks for any help.
